When I was 17, I wanted to be a boy.
I was an undiagnosed autistic, who didn't know why I was different from other girls. I didn't know how to talk to them. I found the experience draining and miserable. I never followed trends, and I never fit into the female cliques. I was the weird girl. (In many ways, I still am.)
I didn't like wearing feminine clothes. I either found them uncomfortable, or I felt they drew too much attention to my body. Jeans and t-shirt were comfortable - and safe.
Not content with her only daughter being a tomboy, my mother frequently told me 'you should have been born a boy'. I was a disappointment to her. Not good enough as a girl. I wouldn't wear the pretty clothes she'd dreamed up dressing her daughter up in.
When I discovered the idea of 'being born in the wrong body', suddenly everything seemed to fall into place. Maybe I was so 'bad' at being a girl because I was never supposed to be one. Maybe I was supposed to be a boy.
I fell into a deep depression and sought a referral to a gender clinic. I h&rmed myself to cope. I obsessively researched HRT and surgeries, and the more I read about it, the more obsessed I became.
My mother kicked me out of my home, unable to cope with my deteriorating mental health. I went to live with my dad, who didn't have an internet connection back in 2009. Slowly, I started to feel better, now that I couldn't obsess over online research and echo chambers anymore.
12 years later, I was diagnosed with autism. It explained a lot about why my life had been the way it was. Why I struggled with certain social situations, why I preferred to dress in simple, fuss-free clothing.
Since I started posting on X just over a year ago, I have come to understand in great detail all of the different factors that led to me believe that I was tr&nsgender.
Whilst I still struggle with social situations, and I still wear T-shirts and men's jeans most of the time, I am now happy to accept myself as a woman - an adult human female.
Not fitting in with other girls didn't mean I was a boy.
Not dressing like other girls didn't mean I was a boy.
Feeling 'diferent' from other girls didn't mean I was a boy.
I have learned a valuable lesson that would have served me well 15 years ago:
Being a girl is simply being born female, and what you choose to do with it from there is entirely up to you.
BREAKING: Reports are emerging that the United Arab Emirates government has FROZEN billions of dollars worth of contracts with France for the purchase of 80 fighter jets due to the recent arrest of Telegram CEO Pavel Durov
THIS IS AMAZING!
Dubai is winning, while Paris is failing. One country cares about free speech, and the other doesn't. It's bizarre to think a Western country is the one on the other side of it.
#France ๐ซ๐ท - UserSec has announced that the group will target France following the arrest of Pavel Durov, the founder and CEO of Telegram, in the country.
The group is calling on all interested parties to join, emphasizing that they are using Durov's messaging platform.

This is what the Conservativesโ so called โrecord NHS fundingโ really equates to.
Itโs clear the only doctors they care about are spin doctors.
The NHS is by no means perfect, but no one in the UK has ever been declared bankrupt because of medical bills.
Yet.
We must never take our NHS for granted - please RT if you agree.
Huge thanks to all of the NHS staff who are doing their best to bring a bit of cheer to patients over the festive period ๐
RT if you know what this reindeer is made of ๐
