@Jumikoqt@2147mill Yes, definitely wish I'd been more aware of investing 30 years ago but a couple of private pensions have been doing that quietly in the background anyway. The beauty of those is that they remove the panic of market whims and lock you in for the long haul.
@internetarchiva Depends how you define best. Money by Martin Amis is the best novel i've ever read but it's toxicity is not good for the soul.
There was a book published in the '80s called Cool: The Complete Handbook which is essentially pages of lists. Ridiculously informative & entertaining.
@TheCinesthetic Six episodes in on the strength of this. Really enjoying it. Although watching it on HBO Max and there's a ridiculous amount of adverts. I do want that Miele washer/dryer combo though.
Every sign at this refinery in Ireland is in russian. The official website is a .RU domain.
There’s no reason to hide it because local politicians are openly doing it for them.
Saw a girl walking around Tesco earlier wearing a red mechanic's boiler suit -genuinely stained - with a very anachronistic haircut. Red haired. Looked like she stepped off the set of a Glasgow set '80s TV show. Just remembered the actress she reminded me of.
@LiamPatterson6@WilliamHill What's clear from this thread is that 5/1 for a BTTS bet is unusual but Colo Colo were 1/100 and hadn’t conceded all season. Also William Hill suck.
It's 31 years ago to the day that this was broadcast - for my money one of the most joyous bits of TV ever committed to celluloid.
It is, of course, Mr Sting's appearence on The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer.
Chitter chatter chit
@agraybee Why did the stormtroopers who disabled the Jawa transporter offscreen attempt to make it look like a Tusken raider attack? Was someone going to beef them about it?
Every day, ships leave this russian owned factory in Ireland straight for St Petersburg carrying thousands of tonnes of raw alumina for the war machine.
There’s corruption everywhere. Locals tell me politicians are bought by oligarchs.
Ireland is no longer militarily neutral.
