Today marks the launch of my petition to make neurodiversity training mandatory for all education staff.
Too many pupils are being failed by a lack of understanding.

The autistic experience of thinking that you don’t really understand something because you don’t understand *all* the details, even though you understand the key aspects and many people in your position would feel that they have a good - maybe even a great - understanding of it.

VD "Just pay her"
GT "Absolutely, I'm very happy to meet her" 🤷♂️
VD: "Why don't you just poo at her 100% of her claim?"
GT: "I don't know the details of her claim" 😡
VD: "She's 92 years of age. What if she dies before you pay her 100% ?" 😳 @CommonsBTC
@naomicfisher I have one ASD child who is beyond stressed exceeding their behaviour/academic expectations & going on a trip for achieving points level, and one ASD w/PDA child who is too terrified to even try and has had no education since April '23. Looking forward to tomorrow's webinar.
Her story teaches us something profound:
The greatest achievements often come from those who refuse to accept society's limitations.
Who find ways to succeed despite the system, not because of it.
This resonates deeply with me because...
Delighted to see Katie & her mum again after meeting them at @BBCWomansHour debate about the SEND system.
We talked more about her experiences & ways to fix the system so children with additional needs get brilliant teaching & support. Children's voices must be central to change
I am imploring everybody I know and even those I don’t who read any of this content, or see any of our footage to share our story.
I am asking you to do this because one day, this might be your father, your mother, your sister brother, your partner or your child, and if you do not advocate for them, it is this simple, they will die.
They will die not because they can’t be saved, but because of the gross negligence occurring in our public healthcare system.
@AutisticCallum_ This is what causes me so much stress, and I ultimately change the order as ongoing because I think it will be more efficient, and then end up doing stuff that was never in the original plan. Or I get stuck in the planning, get overwhelmed and paralysed.
“The drones would come down and pick off civilians – children.”
A former NHS surgeon, Nizam Mamode, who spent a month working in Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza, broke down while testifying about children in Gaza being shot by drones.
