Bettongs eating truffles and spreading mycelium from my picture book Jumping Joeys. Now available in board book edition from Kmart and other book retailers. Feels like a subversive act of gentle activism. My dream making environmental education mainstream. @EuanRitchie1
Hey #statstwitter#rstats ๐ค total stats-nube and rstats-nube here! Can I do a fourth corner analysis using count data across two age classes (juvenile & mature)? Thanks!
Our first Butterwort (Pinguicula vulgaris) rosette has just emerged. They reappeared in 2018 after a long absence, probably due to our #FenRestoration work. It's carnivorous, and its sticky leaves catch small insects. Vulnerable in England, and Rare in #Oxon.
An extremely rare plant, collected by drone, has 1) rooted, 2) flowered, and 3) seeded in our Conservation Nursery! One day, we hope to restore populations of laukahi plants and keep cultural connections to this species alive.

I'm bursting with excitement about an undergraduate student who has come to me with their own innovative research proposal. Enthusiasm for montane woodland restoration in young people & early career researchers is so valuable for developing our field & its long-term future. ๐ช๐คฉ
I'm an academic and not working during the holidays (despite January looking crazy busy). Still far too many people on Twitter making out like this is a controversial choice. Academia might be a job we love, but it is still a job. Today I'll be doing a jigsaw and drinking tea! โ
Welcome to #MythBuster Mondays, where we break down a common misconception about #fieldwork!
Todayโs Myth: People with disabilities canโt do field work.
Truth: People with disabilities are capable of field work & deserve respect & accommodations for all aspects of their jobs.
A bit of a surprise in the #SloaneHerbarium@NHM_Botany today as I continue with work to inventory the collection. I have never seen a folio like this before. A work of art... but difficult to count the number of specimens. And who is it?
Ep 378 is here & its about gold mining & Ecuador's Dracula Reserve

Gold mining operations threaten the future of this reserve. Join me & EcoMinga director Javier Robayo as we discuss this issue & how you can help protect the future of this forest.
