Just over 3" of rain fell at the Lane @ksmesonet station last night with several other sites picking up over an inch. More rain and thunderstorms will be possible across western Kansas tonight. #kswx
Quite the severe thunderstorm in eastern Lane County where a destructive tag has been added to the warning as this storm is capable of 80mph wind gusts and 2" hail.
Looks like there could be some big time storms across south central Kansas tomorrow, perhaps into central Kansas based off some other models. Lots of moisture and instability in place with perhaps just enough wind shear for organized updrafts.
Much of Kansas is under a Marginal Risk, but wouldn't be surprised to see an upgrade to a Slight Risk in some areas. #kswx
Pretty good signal from the HREF that central Kansas should see some storms tomorrow. Quite a bit of rain has fallen across the central part of the state lately.
@akemp_47 I know you can buy adapters to plug your Starlink into a cig port in your car, but if I turn my car off, at least Starlink will stay on with it being plugged into a Jackery.
@akemp_47 I have a Starlink mini and power it with a Jackery. I use a cig port in my car to keep the Jackery powered then so that I know the Starlink will always have power when I am out chasing. Something to consider if you're looking for options.
Some really nice rainfall across southwest Kansas today π
Garden City's primary rain gauge is clogged, but the secondary recorded at least .54" of rainfall. And it looks like birds made some nests again at the Scott City site, so missing rainfall there. #kswx

Ran into Tim, Paul and Carl on May 27, 2013 at a McDonald's in Concordia, KS. After talking to him at the McD, he really wanted to show us his new lightning camera called The Big Kahuna. Forever grateful I had the opportunity to meet Tim, Paul and Carl before their passing.
On May 27, 2013, I had a chance to meet Tim Samaras at a McDonald's in Concordia, Kansas. Tim was extremely friendly and was excited to show us his new lightning camera 'The Big Kahuna'. I was able to shoot some video of him talking about the camera. https://t.co/1gCpk9doyd
