Tom Dundon putting his entire family's names onto the Stanley Cup, before all the players and staff and even omitting equipment manager bobby gorman who’s been with the canes organization since they were the whalers in 1976 is just disgusting.
$ASTS: Chris Sambar seems like an important advocate to have at T-Mobile eh?
Sambar is probably one of the most AST-knowledgeable senior executives in the U.S. wireless industry. While running AT&T’s network, he was directly involved with AST from the beginning during the companies’ long development relationship, publicly supported the BlueWalker 3 voice, 4G and 5G milestones, and became AT&T’s representative on AST’s board in June 2024. He served on AST’s Network Planning & Spectrum Committee until resigning in January 2025 after leaving AT&T for Public Storage.
If we assume $ASTS executes on its long-term vision, it's not difficult to model a business that becomes much larger than many expect.
We can envision mobile service revenue growing from essentially $0 today to ~$15-25B by 2030 and $120-180B+ by 2040, driven by global direct-to-device connectivity.
That could imply ~150-250M active users by 2030 and 700M-1B+ users by 2040, assuming blended ARPU of ~$8-15/month, with revenue coming from a mix of MNO partnerships, government, enterprise, IoT, maritime, aviation and eventually direct consumer offerings where regulations permit.
Unlike terrestrial networks, $ASTS doesn't need to build towers across every country. A single space-based network can serve billions of existing smartphones, while operators avoid billions in rural infrastructure costs.
If these assumptions prove even directionally correct, the market may eventually value $ASTS less like a satellite company and more like a global communications platform.
$ASTS: 🔥Former AST SpaceMobile Board Member and AT&T President of Network, Chris Sambar, has just been appointed as T-Mobile Chief Enterprise Officer
Chris was a massive advocate of AST SpaceMobile and it makes complete sense as to why T-Mobile hired him at this critical strategic juncture
Chris knows AST SpaceMobile's capabilities better than anyone in the wireless industry, he's close friends with Abel and he's best positioned to represent T-Mobile in the AT&T and Verizon Joint Venture discussions
Watch Chris tell the story of how he and Abel met and how AST SpaceMobile became a critical strategic partner of AT&T

$ASTS: 🇮🇪🇪🇺 VODAFONE IRELAND SUCCESSFULLY TESTS EMERGENCY SERVICES OVER AST SPACEMOBILE NETWORK
Vodafone Ireland has successfully tested satellite technology that could help keep emergency services connected during severe weather events and major network outages, as part of a collaboration with the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO).
Vodafone Ireland has successfully tested satellite technology that could help keep emergency services connected during severe weather events and major network outages, as part of a collaboration with the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO).
The telecommunications company said the trial marks a significant step towards integrating satellite connectivity into Ireland's emergency communications infrastructure, providing an additional layer of resilience when traditional mobile networks are disrupted.
The test was carried out under a Memorandum of Understanding between Vodafone Ireland and the OGCIO, with the aim of strengthening mission-critical communications (MCx) for frontline emergency responders.
Representatives from Vodafone Ireland and the OGCIO successfully placed a group call to David Lund, Coordinator of the European Union Critical Communications Service (EUCCS) in the UK, demonstrating how satellite connectivity can support voice and broadband data services when conventional mobile coverage is unavailable.
The company said the technology has the potential to help maintain access to 999 and 112 emergency services, regardless of mobile provider, while also supporting communications for Gardaí, fire services and ambulance personnel during emergencies.
Clare Island has become a key testing location for Vodafone's satellite programme, having also hosted Ireland's first mobile video call via satellite earlier this year.
The island's challenging terrain provides an ideal environment to test communications technologies designed for rural areas and critical national infrastructure.
The latest trial forms part of Vodafone Ireland's wider investment in digital infrastructure.
The live demonstration took place on Clare Island, Co Mayo, where Vodafone completed what it described as Europe's first satellite-enabled mission-critical group call using a standard smartphone.
The trial was conducted in partnership with Satellite Connect Europe, connecting to AST SpaceMobile's satellite constellation.
