@WesleyLHuff I agree in general. There are some cases where the quotation comes from the Hebrew and not the LXX, such as in Matthew 2 where it quotes from Hosea 11:1 “Out of Egypt I called my son.” (The LXX loses that meaning completely). This is not common though.

@biblingoapp I agree that Jesus spoke Aramaic, Hebrew and Greek, all three when he was on earth. The same was likely true of his disciples. The Dead Sea Scrolls from the time of Christ are mostly in Hebrew. He used Greek words like “hypocrite” and there are a number of Aramaic quotes too

On the tragic shooting of hostages: The IDF could have covered it up, or blamed it on Hamas. Instead they told the truth, even when it hurt. That should count for something.

@Oritar I didn’t like deal either. Previous ceasefires and hostage exchanges have turned out badly. Still, this might work better than we expect. There seems to be wall to wall support to resume the offensive next week. Also, Netanyahu knows he had to, or his political career is over.
