Also wishing we could hear from @bobwaldrop right now - on food sovereignty, worker’s rights, building a food hub from nothing. And he would have been the king of make-do home recipe sharing.
Honored @UrbanAgrarian was included! I’ve wished hard core that I had time to write-there’s so much to say about how our local food communities are responding to #COVID19 and what it means for the future. Glad that folks like @foodprintorg are on the job! https://t.co/mIbnLFQm0J
Three years ago today I (@MathyouBurch) was parting ways w/ @ChelseySimply in the new Oculus after a food tour of Brooklyn & beyond (s/o @EssexStMarket) where we shook hands on her joining UA.... (1/3)
I already had several reasons to be pumped about this (in addition to being angry) - it will bring more traffic to @UrbanAgrarian and it will put the farmers market in a more central location, in a building that was BUILT in 1928 to serve as a farmers market.
Thanks @stevelackmeyer for helping me find two more reasons to be angry about this - 1) excluding farmers and customers from this decision was INTENTIONAL and 2) there’s grant money now supporting an inferior market opportunity for farmers.
@jenn_dilley I did this thing! I loved it so much I painted all four walls emerald in my next bedroom and all of the cabinets at @UrbanAgrarian. Then my husband and my business partner made me stop.
@jacquelynruth There’s a schnauzer under all that hair! This baby has been alone for a whiiiile. Let me know if you would like help connecting with a schnauzer rescue.
“I thought the movie was so beautiful… but it also makes me a little bit angry that they aren’t open about how much money it costs to run that farm.” https://t.co/CIbWL9uvjA
