Union Co Commissioners voted 3-2 to prohibit water treatment plants and water treatment systems which Union County owns and operates from adding fluoride into water.

This is not official yet. The county manager says for a first reading vote to be official, it needed to be unanimous. Since it wasn't, the board will have to vote again at the next meeting.

If that vote is 3-2 again, the prohibition will go into effect.

If this goes into effect, it will not impact the 2/3rds of Union residents who source water from the Catawba River Water Supply Project

Williams, Merrell and Helms voted yes.

@mrfarabaugh Its a fair point that Ka < 1 is a better statement of why its a weak acid for other questions. It just seems unecessary for a particulate diagram question that clearly shows partial ionization in this particular question...

Raise your hand if as a chemist you have had an impurity give spurious or overly optimistic results. This is such a common phenomenon in chemistry that I am surprised it wasn't investigated as the first explanation.
