Exactly 3 years ago today (my phone likes to remind me of these things). Back when I was single, a massive binge drinker and 240lbs. If I was told that 36 months later I would find the love of my life, get married, have a beautiful daughter, lose 50lbs, be tee-total and be training for the London Marathon, I'd have called you crazy. It's mad what can happen in such a short space of time and although much of it can be attributed to luck (I met Kirsty on tinder during lockdown), those small wins, little goals and right mindset can make you achieve nearly anything.
I don't post this as some self-congratulatory tweet and I'm not looking for a well done/pat on the back, as I know how lucky I am, but it's for anyone who is trying to better themselves. Anyone who is trying to reach a goal, losing weight, giving up a vice (drugs, alcohol, coffee, chocolate etc), anyone who is looking to improve in any area, to know it can be done.
My transformation to anyone seeing this post will be the physical. In 3 years, I've changed dramatically in how I look, but my biggest change is mentally. I spent years hating myself, I was sometimes a horrible drunk, cheated on partners in my early to mid 20s and eventually grew to despise myself to the point of depression.
I'm now happier beyond words and have the most beautiful family who I will strive to be the best I can be for.
If you find yourself in a dark place and feel things can't or won't change, I just wanted to say that change can and will happen if you want it enough.
Hope you're all having a wonderful Easter Monday! x
I have posted this before but ..
26 years ago, a gunman entered
Dunblane Primary School in Scotland,
killing 16 kids and a teacher. The UK
govt responded by enacting tight gun
control legislation. In the 9400+ days
since, there have been a total of O
school shootings in the UK.
My stepdad @ChrisGPackham has bared the brunt of obsessive bullies who’ve burnt down his gates, thrown dead animals into his garden + sent death threats. They spread lies and hate because he stands up for wildlife.
I stand by him wholeheartedly

@sqwawk@LucidWhim@RoshanaMN@lilmsmerrygold So this is how it actually goes young child gets access to social media and online games. Makes friends with people whilst playing online games. One turns out to find their school/home via social media. Teach our children and ourselves to reduce risk. But yes this is a risk.
I know OFSTED is a hot topic right now, but as parents who lost a child in a nursery, to have them come and visit us, in our own home and make us feel like the worst parents in the world when they uttered the question "Did you ask to see the nurseries certificates, or first aid ones?".. I replied angriliy "they're f--king regulated by you!". We felt like we had failed our son, as first time parents. I still have a bitter taste in my mouth now thinking about that day. We both cried when they left. Then to find out they gave heads up to the nurseries owner following the initial suspension of a visit to his premesis which allowed him to hand back his registration and OFSTED never visited his premesis as he was "no longer a registered provider". We feel like they failed our son, not us.
A favour everyone. I’m doing all I can to hold this piece of crap Government to account but it seems Twitter has taken as much of a dislike to my films & reports as the Government. If you think more should be watching my content than GB news please RT this & keep following
@WhistleblowingT Er sorry the senior management team are wrong. You cannot meet her needs, the risk assessment proves you cannot keep her or others safe. local authority will need to find her a new place….do an urgent annual review and prove it.
@TamaraEssex@nicsadventure@JustMissEmma@GaryLineker Well said. My Twitter handle says the views are my own. We all have the right to an opinion outside of work. It is our personal rather than professional opinion. I get to use the latter a lot as well and I know the difference and I think others do too.
@Fern_Britton We thought our cat Bubbles had injured himself somehow….all was clear when we found the adult rabbit he had caught in nearby fields and dragged home to his larder (under a tree in the garden). He slept for two days to recover from the effort.
@leecronin Blimey! Sorry @leecronin I spent my career trying to make students fearless, to go outside their discipline, make links between different concepts and to be curious. Carry on asking the questions. You never know you might find the answers.
First they came for the refugees, then they came for drag queens and trans men & women, next up was protesters, then they came for lawyers, next was the turn of climate presenters and national treasures, and now they’ve come for sports presenters.
You don’t have to agree with all of the above, but you do need to defend their rights, because if you don’t, then when they come for you too, who’ll still want to stand at your side.
Put aside your prejudices, hatred and fear is their weapon of choice, rise above it, you’re better that this, and them.
The Government are systematically targeting dissent and silencing criticism, they’re controlling our public broadcaster, and the narrative, because that’s all they have left.
This is a pivotal moment, a slice of history, you only need to decide if you want to be able to hold your head high and say that you stood against tyranny and creeping fascism, or forever regret enabling it.
