Sharing some photos here of our most recent Elements fireside chat - which we kept in the family - literally.
For the first time, I moderated a conversation with my dad, Ray Kurzweil, on everything from how he thinks about making predictions, to Pope Leo’s transhumanist mention and his focus on AI, to the precision and accuracy of his forecasts over the last 63 years.
It was particularly sweet to see the energy and passion for the impact of AI come to life with founders, including at least one who traveled internationally to attend.
Will be sharing more from the conversation shortly…
Join us for an evening with Ray Kurzweil, in conversation with Chemistry founding partner @ethankurz (who also happens to be his son 🙂).
Limited spots are available for founders, who want to be in the room to hear more on:
• Ray’s reputation as the “godfather of AGI”
• His role at Google, where his job was to predict the future
• His plan to live forever
Apply now to join us, June 2 in San Francisco, at the link threaded below.
There are very few people who have been thinking seriously about AI since long before it became the center of every single conversation as it today. In this case, 60 years before...
My dad, Ray Kurzweil, is one of them.
On June 2, as part of @chemistry's Elements series, I’ll be sitting down with him in San Francisco for a conversation on AI, intelligence, and the future. Who knows? I may even toss in a few questions about philosophy and the meaning of life.
We at @chemistry are excited to lead @nova_ai's Series A alongside @ivzhou at @Accel, @saranormous at @conviction, and SAP .io
AI is transforming software development — but it hasn’t reached the software that actually runs the world. 92% of the Global 2000 runs on SAP.
Until recently, AI hasn’t worked there. That’s the opportunity.
SAP is the system of record. Nova is building the system of intelligence.
The whole Chemistry team (@Mark_Goldberg_ , @ethankurz, @loubohan, @ivory_tang) couldnt be more excited to partner with @EmmaQian_ and @samuely4ng 🚀🚀🚀
I'm thrilled to announce @nova_ai's $40M funding across a Series A led by @chemistry and a Seed led by @Accel, with participation from @conviction and SAP's venture arm https://t.co/UuQkPJw9H0.
If you're building creative assets - video, images, 3D, audio - with AI, there's one platform worth knowing: @ComfyUI !
4M users. 60K+ community-built nodes. 50K daily downloads. 110K+ GitHub stars — top 10 open source AI repositories on earth. "ComfyUI artist" is now a real job title appearing across studios, agencies, and enterprise job boards.
Most creative software is built for the median user — opinionated, abstracted, controlled. ComfyUI inverts this. Technical artists compose models, LoRAs, ControlNets, and community nodes into precise, reproducible workflows the way engineers write code. Every pipeline is a portable JSON file. Every new model that drops — image, video, 3D, audio — gets absorbed into the ecosystem almost immediately.
Chemistry is proud to back the team in their $30M raise, led by @craft_ventures alongside @PaceCap, TruArrow, and @EssenceVenture. In diligence, we spoke with dozens of creative AI tool builders and struggled to find any that weren't built on Comfy. That's community love and product-market fit at its purest. The conclusion was obvious: the creative suite of the future won't look like the tools of the past. It'll look like Comfy! Congrats to @yoland_yan, @robinjhuang, Yannik — and to the community that built this alongside them.

At #HumanX this week, @ethankurz joined Ray Kurzweil and @shiringhaffary to talk AGI, intelligence, and how humans and AI may evolve together.
In this clip, Ethan shares how Chemistry is putting AI to work across the firm.
Getting to share the stage with my Dad at #HumanX this week was a pretty special experience. We talked about the future of intelligence, AGI, and the ways humans and AI may evolve together, but the most exciting part for me was having my kids there in the audience to see it. Leo even stumped me by grabbing the mic during Q&A and asking: "what's one way you've used AI to raise your oldest son?" 🫠
It was one of those rare experiences where professional and personal comes together in a really meaningful way!
(Thank you to @shiringhaffary for great moderating!)
The biggest constraint to skyrocketing healthcare costs isn’t innovation in care—it’s the infrastructure behind it.
@YuzuHealthInc 🍋 is solving it. More on our Series A investment below 👇
I’m thrilled to announce we’ve raised $44M to build a new home for product design. Meet @noondesign.
No workflow is more broken and fragmented in 2026 than the product designers’. The very same people who care most about building software don’t have software purpose built for them. @kushagrasinha7 and I have lived this problem first hand as designers ourselves.
That’s why we built Noon. The first product design tool that works entirely on your product code, so you can design not only how a product looks, but also how it works. With AI at its core that works in seconds, not minutes.
For the first time, you can create, iterate, build, test and ship. All in one canvas. No translations or roundtrips to the codebase and back.
Comment “Get Noon” and we’ll get you on the list for early access.
So excited to see 4 Chemistry companies on the Enterprise Tech 30 VC list!
Huge congrats to @getserval, @meetgranola, @assort_health and @DecagonAI for their well-deserved recognition.
Thanks to Wing and @EricNewcomer for the writeup!

We often get asked: as early-stage VCs, what AI tool has actually changed how we work?
For us, there’s really only one answer: @meetgranola
We spend most of our days in conversations. That is the atomic unit of venture. Ideas, signals, decisions all come from those moments. Granola helps us capture the essence and actually use it in the wild.
It launched a few months before @chemistry, and quickly became core to how we operate. We use it across every founder meeting and internal discussion, and it evolved from note-taking into something closer to our system of record.
At a team offsite in May 2025, we asked one simple question: what company do we wish we had backed? The answer was unanimous. Granola.
So we took off our investor hats, put on our PM hats, and sent Chris, Sam and team a 19-point product wishlist. That email into the void led to an early investment and an even deeper appreciation for the Granola team’s maniacal attention to product perfection.
Huge congrats to the team on today's news - $125M Series C led by Index Ventures. @kshenster, @Mark_Goldberg_, @loubohan, @ivory_tang, and I are big believers and even bigger users.
