Dealing with emotionally immature parents can be challenging, but there are some yogic ways that can help:
1. Set Boundaries-Establish clear boundaries about what you will and won't tolerate. This might mean limiting the time you spend with them or the topics you're willing to discuss.
2. Practice Self-Care-Make sure you're taking care of your own emotional needs. This might involve seeking support from friends, a therapist, or a support group.
3. Don't Take It Personally-Remember that their emotional immaturity is about them, not you. Try not to take their behavior personally.
4. Manage Expectations- Accept that they may not be able to provide the emotional support you need. This can be painful, but it can also free you to seek support elsewhere.
5. Seek Professional Help-If your relationship with your parents is causing significant stress, it may be helpful to seek the help of a therapist or counselor.
Remember, it's important to protect your own emotional health. If your relationship with your parents is toxic, it's okay to limit or cut off contact. You have the right to protect yourself.
Day 1 of #PSELFWeek began as a journey into the heart of leadership, commencing with Dr. Patricia Muragami's insightful address. Her emphasis on how public systems build the pathway to public victory set a profound tone for the day.

I learned the art of journaling. When others share their stories you realize your issues are so minimal. Journaling can be about the past, present and even the future.
