@latimeralder Yes. And, it’s much worse. Those same modeling groups have gotten $ BILLIONS over the past 30+ years. Their projections have consistently run too hot. Why? Assumes impact of CO2. Why don’t they change? Why not improve models? Outputs are too useful to change.

Regarding the ridiculous claims of “hottest days in the history of the planet” it is instructive to note that the planet Earth is more than 150 yrs old, 4.6 billion actually. And we are in an interglacial period of the Pleistocene Ice Age today. Here is global temp past 500 M yrs

Our Earth is a 4.5Ga rock racing through a 13.7Ga universe. Its violent formation through impacts and accretion created temperatures so high that a multiple km-deep magma ocean existed. Shortly thereafter, a huge impact led to the creation of our moon. Within a few hundred million years, the planet cooled sufficiently to have liquid water at the surface, providing the perfect environment for the origin of life. About 4Ga later, only a few millennia from the formation of our civilization, here we are, discussing how we can control this 4.5Ga rock so as not to inconvenience us through bad weather. Humans are not short on hubris that is for sure.

In my opinion, the cold air mass to our north is being underestimated. Even though it will not get cold enough for ice in the DFW area or in East TX, I think it will be much chillier Friday & Saturday than many forecasts indicate. Look for temps in the 40s with periods of rain.
