@SheetalJaitly He knows there’s going to be an election and wants to give his party time to select a new leader. I don’t think that’s unreasonable, just wish he did it sooner.

@SheetalJaitly I believe so. They had a somewhat successful negotiation with Trump for USMCA and likely believe they can do it again.

@SheetalJaitly Simply pointing out that it’s been done before by the CPC. I don’t like the tactic personally. Having an election now would not be good timing given the US situation. He probably feels it’s best to negotiate with Trump in the near term. New gov will need time to settle in.
