The MPTC + LHLN Leadership Conference brought together leaders from across the profession for two powerful days of real conversations, impactful storytelling, and practical leadership insight.
From H. Dean Crisp Jr.’s focus on empowering the next generation, to Jack Mawn’s “Eight C’s of Leadership,” James Lane’s powerful story of resilience, and Daniel Richard’s message on intentional leadership—along with impactful leadership insights from Mac Marsh and Daven Byrd’s session on the power of AI in law enforcement—attendees were challenged to grow and lead at a higher level.
A major highlight of Day 2 was the Chiefs’ Panel, where top leaders shared real, unfiltered insight on the true cost of leadership, common failures, developing the next generation, and sustaining morale—pushing leaders at every rank to think differently and lead with purpose.
This wasn’t theory—this was real leadership from those who have lived it.

📣 @MaldenPDChief & @MayorOfMalden , assisted by other state and local officials, have pushed for a petition to remove the age limit to become a police officer in the City of Malden, breaking away from an antiquated system.
Drum roll, please... The moment many of you have been waiting for—that’s right, NO MORE AGE LIMIT if you’re looking to serve and protect in the @TheCityofMalden
With that being said, all of the remaining standards will stay the same (i.e., physical fitness, psychological, and drug screening).
If you were among the many exceptional candidates we've overlooked (because of the age limit) in the past, your chance has finally come.
The next Civil Service Exam should be scheduled for March 2025. @MACivilService
Come and join Team Malden!
