Outstanding work!

These two children were abandoned along the border and were found walking alone along the Rio Grande a mile south of Del Rio. They only had papers with contact information for relatives in the US and a few articles of spare clothing. A dangerous trend that continues.

Yesterday, a Del Rio Sector K9 alerted to this trailer at one of our checkpoints. An inspection located 2 children (ages 10 and 15) trapped under the trailer boards with 18 adults. With temperatures on the rise, smuggling attempts like these have a high potential to turn deadly.

Yesterday, our agents rescued these two Honduran children while patrolling the river. No matter the circumstances that brought them there alone, scenes like these are heartbreaking. I could not be prouder of our agents and the lifesaving work they are doing every single day.

Just now, I was honored to meet with the Val Verde Border Humanitarian Coalition in Del Rio. I remain committed to transparency and strengthening our bonds with local leaders and stakeholders in order to best serve our communities.

@CBPGreatPlains @CBP @USBPChief @USBPDeputyChief @CBPMarkMorgan Congratulations on your new command Chief Good! The team in Grand Forks is amazing and the people of North Dakota and Minnesota are some of the friendliest I’ve ever known. I remember my time there very fondly.

Lead well and keep our country safe @USBPChiefGFN .

[Chief Rosario “Pete” Vasquez @USBPChief]

Phenomenal job by our #USBP agents in #DelRio.

Without the decisive actions by our agents, the Honduran national mother & newly born child would have perished on the border.

Recently, #BorderPatrol agents apprehended two people who, after crossing the border illegally, broke into a ranch home and stole several firearms. They have been turned over to @ICEgov and @ATF investigators for prosecution.
