PRESS STATEMENT
STRONGEST CONDEMNATION OF THE HEINOUS ATTACK ON AMBULANCE CARRYING DOCTORS AND MEDICINES IN CHAWANGKINING NAGA VILLAGE*
The KUKI STUDENTS' ORGANISATION TWILANG BLOCK strongly condemns the barbaric, cowardly and inhuman attack on an ambulance carrying doctors and essential life saving medicines at Chawangkining Liangmei Naga Village on Date: 27th August 2026
In this deplorable incident, miscreants waylaid and attacked the ambulance, assaulted/threatened the medical personnel, and burned down the entire stock of medicines meant for the PHC VAICHONG
This act is highly condemnable because:
1. It is an attack on humanity:
An ambulance carrying doctors has protected status even in armed conflicts under International Humanitarian Law and Geneva Conventions. Attacking it is a grave crime against humanity.
2. It is an attack on the Right to Life:
By burning medicines and stopping doctors, the attackers have directly endangered the lives of hundreds of innocent villagers, including pregnant women, children, and the elderly who depend on this medical support.
3. It is an attack on peace:
Doctors and health workers are neutral peace ambassadors. Targeting them creates fear and deepens suffering in an already vulnerable area.
The TWILANG AREA is a peaceful area. Targeting our health lifeline is an attempt to collectively punish innocent civilians.
OUR DEMANDS:
1. We urge the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police, Kangpokpi to take immediate suo-motu cognizance, register an FIR, and arrest the perpetrators at the earliest.
2. The State Government and Health Department to immediately restore medical supplies PHC Tujang Vaichong and ensure security of medical transport and personnel.
We appeal to all sections not to target medical services, personnel and supplies under any circumstances.
We remain committed to peace, but we will pursue all democratic and legal means to ensure justice for this heinous crime.

JUSTICE FOR LAMKHOHEN TUBOI — STOP BLOCKING LIFE-SAVING HEALTHCARE
The death of Lamkhohen Tuboi, S/o Semhao Tuboi, must not be dismissed as an ordinary tragedy. The allegations surrounding the incident demand an impartial, transparent and evidence-based investigation.
According to the claims presented in the poster, life-saving medicines and essential medical supplies were allegedly seized and burned at Chawangkining, leaving T. Waichong PHC without adequate supplies when emergency treatment was required. It is further alleged that the incident occurred despite the presence of Central security forces.
If medical supplies were deliberately obstructed, seized or destroyed, the authorities must establish who was responsible, who participated, whether officials failed in their duty, and whether the obstruction contributed to a preventable loss of life.
Healthcare is not a political weapon. Medicines are not bargaining chips. Emergency medical access must never be blocked.
We demand:
🔴 Immediate FIR under all applicable provisions of law.
🔴 Independent investigation into the alleged seizure and destruction of medicines.
🔴 Arrest and prosecution of those found responsible after due process.
🔴 Accountability of authorities and security personnel if negligence or dereliction of duty is established.
🔴 Uninterrupted access to medicines, ambulances and emergency healthcare for civilians.
🔴 Justice and appropriate relief for Lamkhohen Tuboi’s family.
Authorities should secure CCTV footage, medical records, eyewitness accounts, vehicle movements, communications and supply-chain records so that the truth cannot be concealed or distorted.
A blockade must never become a death sentence.
We demand TRUTH. ACCOUNTABILITY. JUSTICE.

🚨 THIS IS NOT A BLOCKADE. THIS IS A HUMANITARIAN CRIME.
An ambulance carrying doctors, nurses and life-saving medicines was attacked and the supplies burned in front of security forces. A patient at T. Waichong PHC has now died after the facility was left without essential meds.

🚨 SERIOUS DEVELOPING REPORT FROM IT ROAD
A reported firing incident between NSCN (IM) and ZUF (Kamson) has allegedly taken place on 27 August 2026 between Makui Ashang and Makui Thananba along the IT Road, with reports claiming that four Manipuri Naga militants were killed.
According to the information circulating with the accompanying graphic, the confrontation may have resulted from a mistaken identity between cadres of the two groups. The graphic further claims that the cadres were allegedly preparing to meet in connection with an attack on a Kuki village. These claims require independent verification and a proper investigation by the competent authorities.
If confirmed, this incident raises serious questions about the movement of armed cadres, the presence of sophisticated weapons, and the security situation along the IT Road. Civilian lives must not be put at risk because of armed clashes or militant activities.
The Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Manipur Government, security forces, NIA and other competent agencies must urgently establish the facts, secure the area, protect civilians and ensure accountability for any unlawful armed activity.
More details and official confirmation are awaited.

The reported incident at PG Nursing Home in Churachandpur District today, where Central security personnel are alleged to have attempted to apprehend a sick Kuki civilian while he was sleeping and receiving medical treatment, is deeply disturbing and strongly condemned at the highest level.
The manner in which the Central forces allegedly entered or acted inside a hospital and attempted to take a sick and vulnerable civilian into custody raises serious questions about human dignity, medical ethics, proportionality and the protection of civilian rights. A hospital is a place where sick and injured people should be able to receive treatment without fear, intimidation or unnecessary force.
The Kuki community strongly condemns any action that humiliates, frightens or endangers an innocent civilian who is under medical care. If the individual was genuinely suspected of any offence, the authorities must follow due process of law and deal with the matter professionally and humanely. Being sick and asleep in a hospital cannot be treated as justification for unnecessary force or intimidation.
This incident is particularly concerning because the Kuki community continues to raise serious concerns over attacks on Kuki ancestral villages and civilians allegedly involving armed groups such as the NSCN Eastern Flank, NSCN-IM, ZUF (Kamson Group), Shan National Army and Myanmar-based armed elements. The public has a legitimate right to ask why vulnerable civilians receiving medical treatment are being subjected to such actions while allegations concerning armed perpetrators and attacks on villages demand equally urgent and effective investigation.
We therefore urgently appeal to the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, senior Central security authorities, Government of Manipur and the concerned command leadership to immediately investigate this incident. The available video footage should be examined carefully, the personnel involved should be identified, and the exact circumstances leading to the alleged action at PG Nursing Home must be established.
If the investigation confirms that Central personnel acted unlawfully, used excessive force or violated the dignity and rights of a hospital patient, appropriate disciplinary action must be taken against those responsible. The concerned Central force and its command leadership should also issue an appropriate apology to the affected civilian, his family and the Kuki community.
This is not a demand against national security or against the legitimate duties of security forces. It is a demand for professional conduct, accountability, equal protection and respect for human dignity.
The same determination shown in dealing with ordinary civilians must also be demonstrated in investigating and pursuing those accused of attacking Kuki villages, burning ancestral homes and killing civilians. No armed group and no security personnel should be above the law.
The incident at PG Nursing Home is unacceptable if the reported conduct is confirmed. A sick civilian sleeping in a hospital must not be treated like an enemy combatant. A hospital must remain a place of healing, not fear.
We demand an immediate, impartial and transparent investigation, accountability for any wrongdoing, and an assurance that such an incident will not be repeated.
Protect civilians. Respect patients. Uphold the Constitution. Apply the law equally.

Regarding the indefinite total shutdown imposed today by the Kuki CSO Working Committee, Ukhrul, it is important to state clearly that this action reflects the deep anguish, fear, and frustration of the Kuki community over the continuing insecurity, targeted violence, and prolonged blockade affecting Kuki villages and civilians in Ukhrul and adjoining areas.
The shutdown has been enforced today itself as an emergency measure after repeated appeals for protection, free movement of essential commodities, and restoration of normalcy failed to receive an effective response. The Kuki CSO Working Committee, Ukhrul has stated that the decision was taken in the larger interest of safeguarding the lives, dignity, and security of the Kuki people living in the district.
For many months, Kuki villages in Ukhrul and neighboring areas have faced threats, attacks, displacement, destruction of property, and severe hardship due to restrictions on movement and supplies. Truck drivers transporting food, medicine, fuel, and other essential items have reportedly been intimidated, creating a humanitarian crisis for ordinary civilians, women, children, and the elderly. The continuing blockade of roads and the lack of adequate security arrangements have further intensified public anger.
The total shutdown is therefore being observed as a strong democratic protest against the prevailing situation and as a demand for immediate intervention by the Government of India, the Government of Manipur, and the concerned security agencies. The Kuki community is urging the authorities to ensure safe passage on all national and district roads, prevent intimidation by armed groups, protect vulnerable villages, and restore law and order without discrimination.
The Kuki CSO Working Committee, Ukhrul has appealed to all residents to maintain peace, avoid violence, and cooperate during the shutdown while the organization continues to pursue justice, security, and constitutional rights through democratic means. The message from the Kuki community is clear: the safety of civilians, protection of ancestral villages, and restoration of normal life cannot be delayed any longer.

📍Litan, Manipur: Repeated incidents point to alleged Tangkhul–Meitei collusion in the ongoing violence. From Haijang, Gampal, Thawai to now Kuki Litan, patterns keep emerging. Most concerning, security forces remain inactive despite there . @official_dgar@BSF_India@crpfindia
Shocking visuals from Litan Sareikhong Kuki Adivasi Village, Manipur. Kuki homes set on fire by Tangkhul Led NSCN-IM as central forces watch silently. We demand immediate intervention, protection of civilians, and accountability. Silence is complicity.

Manipur Police has long been said to be Meitei Police. Their biased execution of law and order has been exposed time and again in Manipur Violence. It doesn’t even come as a shock nor is it surprising anymore. They symbolise selective outrage & targeting against the Kuki-Zo.
