Manipur: Leilon villagers face combing operations despite being victims of attacks by NSCN-IM and the Kamson faction terrorists. Meanwhile, militant hubs like Konsakhul remain unchecked. Such double standards risk eroding public confidence in the security apparatus @crpfindia
Staged encounter by security forces raises serious concerns, with the victim allegedly stripped & dressed in different clothing to falsely portray him as a militant. The Kuki community will not tolerate such abuse of authority, manipulation of evidence, and gross misuse of power.
THE CONFUSED MEITEI MINAI:
JUNE 18 (UPRISING DAY)
The Great June Uprising, also referred to as Unity Day by the Meitei community, will be observed in approximately 30 hours. There is considerable public uncertainty regarding its observance this year, given concerns about the conduct of certain Civil Society Organisation (CSO) leaders and their current position vis-à-vis the Tangkhul community. Both communities can't seem to live without thinking about the Kuki-Zo community. They breathe Kuki, eat Kuki, drink Kuki, smell Kuki, dream Kuki, and speak Kuki — nothing else.
June 18 is commemorated annually as June Uprising Day in remembrance of the 18 civilians who lost their lives following the 2001 extension of the ceasefire agreement between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM.
It is my view that all Meitei organizations that identify as advocating for the community’s cause, including COCOMI, FOCS, Haomee Federation, AMUCO, UCM, Meira Paibis, and Arambai Tenggol, along with all their secessionist narco-terrorists groups PLA, UNLF, KCP, PREPAK, and KYKL, should go to the Tangkhul NSCN-IM’s Camp Hebron to meet Thuingaleng Muivah and VS Atem, bow their heads, and declare: "WE ARE YOUR SERVANTS AND ALL OF KANGLEIPAK BELONGS TO YOU." The Meitei community may think they are smart enough to use the cunning Tangkhul fox to demoralize the Kuki-Zo community. In reality, they are the most misguided community. Both communities combined will never succeed in their devilish plan against the Kuki-Zo community.
I would be willing to facilitate all travel expenditures for representatives of these groups for such an engagement from my own pocket, being a good master of both communities. 😀

For years, Kukis have been vilified with dehumanizing slurs and false accusations, including being branded as "cannib@ls." Yet history tells a different story.

@manipur_police on Wednesday produced a person in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Imphal West in connection with a case related to a threat issued to a renowned doctor in Imphal.
In 2015, Manipur Police reportedly uncovered a shocking case involving allegations of cannib@lism linked to members of a militant group that had signed an MoU with the Government of Manipur. During the interrogation of W. Ramananda alias Rouso, a leader associated with KCP (Lallumba), police claimed he confessed to ordering the k!lling of a man identified as Tomba, who was suspected of belonging to a rival faction. Tomba was allegedly murd€red inside a designated camp, after which his flesh was c00ked and served to around 30 cadres. Ramananda reportedly admitted that he himself consumed the cooked fle&h, while the remaining remains were burned to destroy evidence. The cadres were allegedly informed of what they had eaten only afterward.

Where were these much publicised appeals to humanitarian values when two Kuki villagers were gunned down at Thawai while carrying out the simple task of repairing a community water supply line?
It is difficult to accept moral lectures today from voices that remained conspicuously absent when Kuki civilians were repeatedly falling victim to violence.
Between March and June 2026, twelve Kuki lives including that of an unborn child were lost in a series of incidents widely attributed to Naga perpetrators.
On 11 March,Thangboimang Khongsai of Shangkai Kuki Village and Thengin Baite of Thawai Kuki Village were killed near Litan, with their bodies recovered the following day.
On 24 April,Letlal Sithlhou and Paominlun Haolai lost their lives in the Mulam–Shongphel area.
The tragedy deepened on 13 May when Rev. V. Sithlhou,Pastor Paogoulen, and Rev. Kaigoulen were brutally killed along the Kotzim-Kotlen route, sending shockwaves across the Kuki community.
Less than a month later,on 5 June,Loibol Khullen witnessed the extermination of an entire family.Jangminlal Haokip, Letkhongam Haokip,Tinmary Haokip, and her seven-month-old unborn child were all killed.
Then,on 9 June,Haokhogin Lhouvum was shot dead at Lasan.
These individuals were not mere entries on a casualty list. They were family members, spiritual leaders, farmers, and ordinary villagers whose lives were cut short. Yet their deaths are too often overlooked, minimised,or ignored altogether when conversations about justice and human rights arise.
The memory of the three pastors murdered on 13 May remains particularly painful.Despite the anger and grief that swept through the Kuki community that day,Kuki civil society organisations ensured that Naga travellers along AH-1 were not harmed.Thousands travelled safely through Kuki areas. Those who had been detained by agitated members of the public and whose whereabouts were known were subsequently released, many within hours.
That response demonstrated restraint at a time when emotions were running high. It stood in stark contrast to allegations that civilians including students and daily wage earners were being detained elsewhere simply because of their ethnic identity.
The release of fourteen abducted civilians is undoubtedly a positive development. Innocent people should never be deprived of their liberty or used as bargaining tools. However, returning civilians who should never have been abducted in the first place cannot be portrayed as an exceptional act of benevolence.
It is the minimum obligation required by any society that claims to respect human dignity.
True moral principles are tested by consistency, not convenience.
They cannot be invoked only when they serve a political narrative while remaining silent about other victims.
Justice loses its meaning when it is selective.Compassion loses its sincerity when it is extended only to one's own community.
If there is to be an honest conversation about peace, justice, and humanity, then every innocent life must be acknowledged equally.
No victim should be forgotten because their suffering is inconvenient to a particular narrative.
A principle that applies only to some people is not a principle at all.
A conscience that awakens only for certain victims is not true compassion. And a justice that remembers one tragedy while ignoring another is not justice it is simply partiality masquerading as virtue.

PRESS RELEASE
KHRC Condemns Killing of Kuki Civilians in Kultuh and Lasan; Urges Government of India to Abrogate NSCN-IM Ceasefire and Ensure Permanent Solution to Three-Decade Conflict among Kuki, Naga, and Meitei Communities in Manipur
The Kuki Human Rights Council (KHRC) strongly condemns the recent killings of Kuki civilians in Kamjong and Tamenglong districts this week. On 11 June 2026, Kultuh village was reportedly attacked and torched, resulting in the deaths of Church Elder Letminlun Haokip and Lunminthang Haokip, and the displacement of several families. On 9 June 2026, farmer Haokhogin Lhouvum, aged 55, was reportedly shot dead in Lasan village while working in his field. Residents have alleged the involvement of NSCN-IM and NSCN-(EF) in the Kultuh attack, while Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills has stated the involvement of the NSCN-IM Kamson group in the Lasan killing.
KHRC is alarmed that Kuki civil society groups have reported 12 Kuki civilians allegedly killed in 2026 alone at the hands of NSCN-IM, ZUF-Kamson, and NSCN-(EF). On the morning of 11 June 2026, two more civilians were reportedly killed in Kultuh. One of the victims was allegedly burnt to death by NSCN-IM and NSCN-(EF). These killings have now raised the civilian death toll for this year to 14. The repeated targeting of civilians, including a pregnant woman, constitutes a grave human rights violation and reflects a complete breakdown of law and order in the affected areas.
The Council urges the Government of India to take decisive steps toward a permanent political solution to the Kuki-Naga-Meitei conflict that has persisted since 1993. KHRC further requests the Government of India to abrogate the ceasefire agreement with NSCN-IM, which has become the primary cause of the conflict between Kuki and Naga communities in Manipur and which has, since 1993, resulted only in civilian deaths. If the Government of India fails to deliver a permanent political solution, the situation in the region will deteriorate further. Thirty-three years of intermittent violence and civilian casualties underscore the failure of temporary security measures. Only a comprehensive and inclusive peace process that addresses the core political, land, and security issues of all communities can end this cycle of violence and ensure lasting peace in the region.
KHRC stands with the bereaved families and the displaced people of Kultuh and Lasan. We call upon all authorities to uphold constitutional rights and ensure the protection of life and dignity for every citizen.
Issued by:
Department of Information & Publicity
Kuki Human Rights Council (KHRC)
I strongly condemn the pre-dawn attack on Kultuh Kuki village, Kamjong District, allegedly by armed NSCN-IM (EF) terrorists, which resulted in the killing of the village Church Deacon and Youth Leader, as well as the burning of multiple houses.
My deepest condolences to the bereaved families and the Kultuh Villagers during this hour of grief.
I urge the government to immediately deploy security forces to all vulnerable Kuki villages in Kamjong and Ukhrul Districts. I also call for adequate compensation and rehabilitation for the families of the deceased and for residents whose homes were burned down this morning.
Under a leaking tarpaulin, in the middle of rain and mud, the coffins of two church leaders from Kultuh Village lie in silence.
Rev. Letminlun Haokip and Lunminthang Haokip were not armed volunteers . They were servants of God and their community. Yet their lives were cut short, burned alive, leaving their families grieving and their village shattered. The rain signifies the tears of all the death Kukis in the past few weeks, Helpless, Cold and longing for justice.
Kuki civilian deaths in NSCN I'M attacks documented since March 2026: 13 lives lost.
11 March, Litan: 2 killed
24 April, Mulam-Songphel: 2 killed
13 May, Kotzim-Kotlen Route : 3 killed
5 June, Loibol Khullen : 3 killed (including a 7-month pregnant woman)
9 June, Lasan : 1 killed
11 June, Kultuh Village : 2 killed
Thirteen lives. Thirteen families shattered. No amount of rain can wash away this grief, and no amount of silence can erase these names.
May their souls rest in peace. Justice must prevail.

The cycle of Tangkhul sponsored violence continues to claim innocent lives.
Two more Kuki civilians were reportedly killed in Kultuh, a Kuki village in Kamjong District, in a pre-dawn attack attributed to NSCN-IM (Eastern Front). Their deaths add to the 12 lives lost over the past few months.

This morning Kultuh Kuki ancestral village was attacked and houses were burnt down. Combined forces of NSCN-IM, NSCN Eastern Flank, Myanmar Meitei Militants, Shanni National Army and Junta military carried out the assault under the protection of Tangkhul CSOs, Tangkhul pastors, and the United Naga Council.
Today we lost two innocent Kuki civilians. One was a head deacon in the church. The other was the youth chairman of the village. Both were killed by NSCN Eastern Flank, NSCN-IM, Myanmar Meitei Militants, Shanni National Army and Junta military while defending our ancestral land.
We send our deepest condolences to the families of our martyred brothers. Their blood was spilled on the soil of their forefathers for simply being Kuki.
We demand immediate arrest of every person involved in the murder of our civilians and the burning of Kultuh. Book the attackers, their handlers, and those who gave them shelter and cover.
Failure to take action will prove that the state has abandoned us. The peace-loving Kuki community has shown restraint again and again while our villages burn and our people are killed. We will not be mute spectators anymore if attacks on Kuki ancestral villages continue.
Kultuh is burning. Two innocent Kuki dead. Foreign militants and insurgents are inside India killing civilians. Act now or own the consequences of your silence.
