Been quietly writing this for the last 6 months but it's ready to unveil today.
"Colourblind" is now on sale. To be performed at @music_sua 11/04/22 at 6 and 8pm.
"Someone's always there to help. A story of change."
A good friend of mine unexpectedly lost his wife. A couple months later we were golfing together, chatting about nothing. He asked what my dinner plans were and I told him wifey wanted my homemade chili and cornbread, but I didn't feel like stopping at the store. We golfed a few more minutes when he quietly said, "Make the chili."
It took me a few minutes to realize we were no longer talking about dinner. It was about going out of your way to do something for someone you love because at any moment, they could unexpectedly be taken from you. So today I'm sharing with you that wisdom handed to me by my dear friend, that I've thought of many times since that day. Next time someone you love wants you to go for a walk or watch a movie or play a board game, just put your phone down and give them your undivided attention, just do it.
Pewdiepie reveals how to break free from the algorithm
“A lot of this is going to sound crazy but you’ve gotta hear me out, it’s a step by step process. I’m not saying you should do all of it but you should try some of it”
“Step 1 is creating friction. I put all social media and attention hungry apps in a second profile and I can’t understate how much this changed my life. Those 5-6 seconds it takes to switch profiles stops me every time and makes me think, is this what I want to be doing?”
“The second thing I did was self hosting. The effect that had on me is I’m not the product anymore. The things I use are mine and because they’re not free, I’m not paying with my privacy. I think the main difference is ads and news don’t reach me”
“Next thing I did was disable Shorts, I like YouTube but I hate how Shorts is everywhere I can’t escape it”
“Then I unfollowed everyone. You don’t have to do this, this is definitely a me thing, I just got really fed up”
“Next, get a DNS blocker. You can remove ads completely, most of it won’t even reach your device”
“I think you owe it to yourself to take some time today and start building your tech fence”
“These tech companies don’t care about you, so you’ve got to care about yourself. The cheat code is building some friction and filtering out the noise, that’s your defence and your cure”
Hey White House, please remove the Tropic Thunder clip. We never gave you permission and have no interest in being a part of your propaganda machine. War is not a movie.
Major cheat code for life: Quiet progress. No announcement. No hype. No applause. Learn to work without validation. Build when nobody’s watching. Write when nobody’s reading. Train when nobody’s cheering. It doesn’t take talent, just courage. Quiet progress creates loud results.
What a privilege to be tired from work you once begged the universe for. what a privilege to feel overwhelmed by growth you used to dream about. what a privilege to be challenged by a life you created on purpose. What a privilege to outgrow things you used to settle for.
