@MikeASperrazza Let me ask you a question Mike- if I’m telling you I smoked crack, why in the world would I lie about snorting it? There’s plenty of pictures of me smoking crack doing all sorts of stupid things, with all sorts of people and rarely with clothes on. But not snorting cocaine.
@holmesworcester my guess is that the strongest supporters of this policy are actually local SMB owners who love that it's illegal for large companies to compete with them and they will fight like cornered rats to keep the policy in place, plus the usual anti-change and anti-corporate coalitions.
@r_rukio I'm only gay for my wife. in Missouri ~2014 she asked her coworkers for somewhere fun to take her parents and one of them suggested bingo night at Hamburger Mary's and they didn't mention that it was a gay bar chain or the bingo caller would be a drag queen.
@elaifresh I can't believe they gave the AI full admin with no human in the loop. I would have assumed there was some guy in the Philippines was blindly smashing APPROVE CHANGES, but no Meta just sent it.
@bryancsk Uber for Teens was shut down in Cali because Uber wouldn't subject drivers to fingerprint background checks and drug tests. Unaccompanied minors are allowed in Waymos in other states but California regulators forbid it because Uber drivers complained.

@thekitze Pushing Daisies - funny colorful ABC procedural starring Lee Pace about a pie maker that can raise the dead and solves crimes. If you like it, watch Wonderfalls.
Better Off Ted - ABC workplace comedy set at an evil megacorp
Bored To Death - HBO stoner detective show
@PstafarianPrice@GWHayduke97 weed has been de facto legalized nationwide for several years. however because of quirks of the law it effectively only legalized forms of it that don't stink up the area so it's flown way under the radar.

@ForsakenCrown@SpaceKoala prop 13 didn't have this effect because it didn't limit property tax breaks to homesteads, it applied equally to commercial and industrial properties and corporate owners.
@mattyglesias@mnolangray businesses with more than 11 locations worldwide are subject to additional restrictions in San Francisco.

@fillefoux you're not going to find many of their churches in France, but you might get something out of my childhood church, Unitarian Universalism. one of their catchphrases is that they believe in "deeds, not creeds", so literally anyone who believes in doing good things is welcome.
I just got an insane 1-2 punch about AI music. The end is extremely nigh for musicians.
Last night my wife was listening to a musician called Esme Rose. she said she liked her but the whole album sounded the same. It sounded like Suno to me. There are no videos of her playing music, she has never done an interview, and Pangram said her bio was 100% AI.
This morning a friend of hers played a song for us first she had just discovered on Reels and really liked from an artist called Polk County Pagan Market. I instantly clocked it as Suno and sure enough the man behind it says he just writes the lyrics and Suno does the rest.
@rachanananana the "Grok replace her clothes with a string bikini and put white glue dripping down her face" era drove a LOT of women off of X, the everything app.
@ScarletAstrorum@lymanstoneky we've financing lots of basic social services through the healthcare system. take this kid: he probably does need this level of supervision, but the only way to get the state to pay for it is by billing it "autism therapy".

Benji is ten years old. After approximately 10,000 hours of 1:1 therapy he can't identify a cake or go ten minutes without attacking his therapist. UHG is right to ask why they should pay for even more "therapy" for a kid that's going to be institutionalized once puberty hits.
