@svpino I think the vscode architecture is great for using vim and emacs as a code editing frontend. vscode uses language servers to provide advanced IDE functionality. This allows you to use a client-server architecture where vscode provides the capabilities while vim/emacs can be FE.

@jeanqasaur So what does it mean for a database to have static typing? I think that means the entire database must be known to the compiler. A statically typed database is a database whose entire set of contents is compiled with the program code, right?

@jeanqasaur Now this one's a thinker. First I thought, wouldn't you get types from the DB schema? But realized that's a runtime type system, the DB connection is made at runtime so doesn't help your static type checker.

1) Off-the-shelf part, does not require custom installation
2) Much greater flexibility in how a room is laid out
3) Folds into seating, which is a thing most people need in the room anyway
