It's finally done!
After weeks of trial and error, multiple revisions, lost saves (and the occasional procrastination) my first FPW move is finally done: The Rock Bottom remake https://t.co/G03vA0a6Qa

@DetectiveEvy@funk_a_lunk@SweetPeachGames What it actually sounds like is “I was a kid/teenager back then so that’s a formative time period in my life, and thus games before that arbitrary year does not feel as playable to me”.
Which is fine, but nothing about 2006 in particular made games objectively more “smooth”
@DetectiveEvy@funk_a_lunk@SweetPeachGames It’s not like the 360/PS3/Wii gen launched and suddenly games controls were “smooth” (whatever arbitrary & subjective meaning that has”. Games the first couple years of that console gen played the same as the previous gen. Which is why I said it’s such an arbitrary year
@TheMangoViking@annartum@SweetPeachGames It’s platformers (usually 2D ones) that focus more on visual storytelling than the challenge of maneuvering the levels.
I’d say some modern examples that were most likely influenced by Another World would be: Limbo, Little Nightmares, Neva, Inside, etc
@pogbum4040 @FahridYuhkansta @WokeBlader You missed the point of the argument you yourself agreed with
I get that you’re like 13 years old, but you should be able to follow along in a discussion at your age
@FahridYuhkansta @pogbum4040 @WokeBlader Nevermind that what constitutes as “old” is also subjective.
A 5 year old game is half a lifetime ago to somebody who is 10, but might feel like yesterday for somebody who is 50.
@AccelRiderX@GaoFightGo @WokeBlader @LadyoftheNerds1@ValyrianMage There’s nothing stale about it; that’s your subjective opinion because tou don’t like the taste
The analogy works just fine. A game is not bad because it has friction, just like food isn’t bad because it has friction. Neither is enjoyable by everybody, but that ≠ objectively bad
@AccelRiderX@GaoFightGo @WokeBlader @LadyoftheNerds1@ValyrianMage There’s no such thing as an objectively better game. Less friction ≠ better
Just because I can eat soup without chewing does not make it objectively better than solid food, nor does it make it worse.
@dirtydotEXE @WokeBlader @LadyoftheNerds1@ValyrianMage How many of them google recipes for Minecraft? Or strategies for beating bosses in Elden Ring? Or guides for 100% routes in a Persona game.
Kids have no problem googling for stuff to beat games, be it for main or optional stuff. Determined kids will do it, which is fine
@GenePark Obviously they couldn’t hire Nujabes for it, but I don’t really get what Watanabe’s role was here. Just to curate a list of songs so they can put his name in the marketing?
Don’t get me wrong, the mode is cool. I just find Watanabe’s contribution in this confusing.
@GenePark Am I the only one confused by the way that tweet was written? Because as far as I know Watanabe is not a music composer, or even a music director; he’s an anime director. Yes he’s associated with Samurai Champloo, but the show’s music was composed by Nujabes.
@TiffanyMayCry@Brunty023@maximilian_ Gotta do it on the PS5 next time to keep him guessing.
And if he still got the PS4 hooked up, install the FF14 menu theme on it
@SimonBelmondo4@mordred____@niggachandesu@ConnerDaWaffle The fight scenes that were choreagraphed like a Hong Kong action movie were great.
Then they ended the movie with a big Hollywood style fight which sucked ass. The dissonance between the two styles was so jarring
@MangaMoguraRE I am from the future; the year 1965 to be precise. I wish I could tell you One Piece has the best ending, but it’s still ongoing. We’ve been on the ”last arc” for 13 years now.
Shueshia is keeping Oda alive with horse steroids and prayers.
@2020therealme1@WrestlingMark16@Niallshibata Better yet: just send somebody else to handle the hand egg team. That way he can focus all year round on what truly matters: rasslin’.
