I don't think they did the proper market research, full size luxury sedans are a tiny percentage of new car sales, even if you include ICE vehicles like the S class or 7 series. Add in the low adoption rate of EVs from the demographic that could actually afford one. It was obvious
@itskyleconner Maintenance and fuel for that RR would cost more than the monthly payments on an R1S.. you can tell old money when they can keep that classic clean and running well.
@TravisKetchum@Rivian Better than my Lucid Air that takes 2 minutes to unlock and only occasionally moves to my correct seat position. It's infuriating after owning a Tesla
@MattWallaceTech Sales probably would have been about the same if they just made an Air Touring /GT longroof.. could have gained some traction from the E63/RS6 enthusiasts.. for the price, it just doesn't have the aura or shoulder room to compete with the big boys that soccer moms want
@AutismCapital@SawyerMerritt Who exactly are they targeting here? 15 year old girls who live in gated communities who's daddies can afford a (second) 'cute' golf cart
@TailosiveEV Is like some other options outside of the R1S (that I already own) and the Escalade EV (more $ than I'd be comfortable spending for now).. Done with Lucid until they get their shit together with the software.
I think the closest we're getting is the YL for at least a few years
