Nobody is stealing anyone's pets - the question is over adoption which was offered and then withdrawn.
CC hand-raised fawn but also left him in a poor state, unsocialised, unbonded, and frightened of his own shadow which is why he was fostered out to a quiet space on his own.
Between CC and the carer, over 12 months, he's become a more functional bun who is bonded to 2 other buns and his carer.
He still reacts cautiously to me in his native space. I'm guessing he'll find it harder to cope back with the herd, and I fear that the vitriolic that has spilled out here would make it near impossible to return to his safe space if he doesn't cope well.
He lost his 2 previous bonded buns when all 3 were introduced to a larger bunch (despite them being well cared for). That's the concern, of history repeating itself.

I apologise for contacting you.
I'm not Fawn's foster parent, but I do know her and I feel you need to know more of the story than you're getting from Chris/CarrotCottage or in other brief posts. I will post this on the CC thread but I'm guessing it may be deleted, and/or I'll be blocked - such is the way of twitter and why I don't tweet usually.
I don't know why this has kicked off now, nor why it has suddenly accelerated. I don't like it or the stress it's causing to anybody.
And the full story is long - so a quick summary is below.
TL;DR
1. The vaccinations were delayed because the Vet was injured and requested they be rescheduled to this week - not because of hooman's delay.
2. The buns live in clean, hygenic, interesting surroundings - not in a building site - with ample room.
3. The finance is now in place to look after these 3 bunnies, just as it is for the other animals in the house, and the geriatric sheep on the farm, so she is now in a position to adopt.
4. CC have never been denied access to the buns.
5. CC have never formally asked for the buns return until today (tonight actually), and even then they've specified a date next week.
6. Not one of these animals has ever been denied access to timely veterinary treatment
6. FawnsOnly does not and never has taken donations (other than of snaccs for Fawn) - it is not a source of income, just a source of bunny love and appreciation. Only CC monetise (as they have every right to do)
The background:
Fawn's hooman has been looking after Fawn for a year now, initially as a lone bun, getting her (yes, her!) used to human company after her bonded relatives were adopted out and Fawn was rejected by the others. That left Fawn quite traumatised by everything - from human contact to being in the rescue. It took a lot of time and patience but finally Fawn could bear to be with people. After all that effort, he was returned to CarrotCottage to be bonded in a permanent home. The only problem was that CarrotCottage had mis-sexed Fawn, and had advertised him as a female so the prospective owner got annoyed and said no. So CC asked hooman to take Fawn (now a boy) back into foster care.
Not long after that, CC said they didn't want to carry on rehoming and wanted to concentrate just on rescue and keeping/caring for the buns they'd rescued - so Fawn was now never going to be rehomed.
Fawn was then on his own for a long time. He couldn't be bonded to the hoomans other buns because then that bond would have to be broken when he left.
So, after some persusion, CC supplied 2x bonded lop girls who lived alongside Fawn and were subsequently bonded to him. He (and they) have been living the life of riley ever since.
Contrary to what has been said, they do NOT live on a building site. Each set of rabbits has a 4m x 3m room that was decorated and kitted out specially for rabbits. Indeed, a new even bigger room is virtually complete for them to move into.
During that time they have been well looked after, well fed (at the hooman's expense), well-treated (with small gifts from some of you - thanks!), groomed (by hooman) and fully vet'd (paid for by Carrot Cottage).
It was an arrangement that worked well and you'll have seen some pictures of them all (including non CC buns) on @Fawnsonly.
Then, without warning (that apparently due to a failure in communication at CC) CC decided they could not afford to continue supporting these buns vet bills and there was an implication that either hooman picked up those bills or the buns needed to return to CC - though oddly not to then be adopted outside CC. And a decision was expected almost immediately.
Hooman was confused - and stated she couldn't really afford to pick up the bills. Since the buns were going to stay with CC they'd then be paying for both vet bills and food/upkeep so it seemed like CC would then be paying even more, not less. And worse, that Fawn would then be leaving his quiet spot. Fawn is still very sensitive to changes unlike his 2 girls who are just chilled with everyone and everything.
Various suggestions were made as to how best to split the funding, to the benefit of hooman and CC. And all went quiet for a while.
Then FawnsOnly posted a picture of fawn with a rainbow clip, commenting on the awful rain we've had in Wales since the heatwave. Someone decided the rainbow was pride-related (it's not, Fawn doesn't do politics, just snaaccs)
Then on the back of that, this kicked off. Seemingly an argument ended with the statement "I'll have my buns back then", then a pause, and a few cryptic replies on Fawns blog, then suddenly threats of legal action, and then this pre-emptive strike.
Hooman is in bits over this - lots of people are taking what they've read at face value and calling her horrible names, and assuming the buns are being held and are in bad health or being mistreated. Nothing is further from the truth.
When Fawn was due to be fostered into a safe indoor home, human agreed, but the rescue have repeatedly agreed that the rescue is not a suitable environment for Fawn and recommended a long term/permanent foster arrangement.
Now she's scared of the threats and of someone just snatching them and never seeing them again and worrying about how they're getting on. If they go back to the rescue it seems she'll never be allowed to see them, or help there again - and really there's no legitimate reason for that.
Meantime, we put in place the finance to make sure they're permanently looked after - and offered to show proof of that to CC. It's not cheap, far from it, but it does mean that CC can treat their adoption as a donation to help other buns, knowing that these three are safe for the rest of their days.
How do I know all this? Easy, I've known Fawn since the day he came to her hooman, and I rabbit-sit whenever necessary. I installed the cameras that monitor both rabbit rooms and did most of the decoration for them (under sufferance).
I'm not mad about rabbits like most of you are but I hate to see people tearing themselves apart when you all care about the same things.
But whatever you think, please stop with hate messages and criticism of her care for these little buns. She has poured hours into rehabilitating Fawn - she doesn't need to be vilified for things she hasn't done.
That's a lovely insinuation. Care to elaborate? I'm sure my partner will be very interested in the story you want to tell. She knows Sam and the rabbits.
I'm not going to go into the mechanics of the house purchase and redecoration but that's why she's not got much spare money and credit to her she was prepared to forgo some extras in the house just to be able to adopt Fawn etc.
I'm not a builder. Never have been but I am helping her learn life skills as i have for the last 15+ years, and as I do for many others as well.
I am a lifelong feminist and have been mentoring and supporting women and girls for more than 30 years, especially those that haven't benefited from a great start in life.
I don't hide behind a fake account like you (nor have i just set this up) nor do i troll people, ever. I'll assume this account is Chris @ CC. So I'll just add that your behaviour towards a woman you have committed to support is way below a level I consider decent.
I imagine also that you're enough of a coward to have just thrown the insult and blocked me.

TL;DR
1. The vaccinations were delayed because the Vet was injured and requested they be rescheduled to this week.
Not long after that, CC said they didn't want to carry on rehoming and wanted to concentrate just on rescue and keeping/caring for the buns they'd rescued - so Fawn was now never going to be rehomed and would have to live in long-term foster care.
Fawn was then on his own for a long time - not great for a bun.

@carrotcottagerr I apologise for posting here.
I'm not Fawn's foster parent, but I do know her and more of what's actually happened here. I'm limited to 255 chars here, so if you want more info, please contact me directly and I'll send you more.
But whatever please just stop with hate messages.
