@KateFantom @cjb_twit Another explanation could be that it was a company car with a company funded fuel card (All Star, Shell, etc). The 3rd party chargers would be 'free' while the superchargers don't accept fuel cards.

There's no getting away from the fact, this is horrific

For this reason cobalt usage in EV's is being phased out with the implementation of LFP and Sodium-Ion batteries.

Cobalt has been used in the desulphurisation of fossil fuels since 2006, 17 years. But we never heard about child exploitation then 🤔

Cobalt makes up a quarter of its global requirement, so the headline could read very differently, but clearly has an agenda.

In the UK here are the costs on the NHS of running an ICE vehicle compared to an EV. I'd imagine this is similar worldwide.

Average cost to the NHS and society of a car is £7,714
The health damage cost from diesel cars is £16,424 and vans £24,555
Battery electric cars and vans are as little as £827 and £1,443 – the lowest cost
Petrol damage costs are £2,327 and £10,101 for cars and vans, respectively
Petrol hybrids cars have a damage cost of £1,824
Nearly 90% of the total £6 billion bill caused by emissions to the NHS and wider society comes from the impact of diesel emissions

This is UK crazy electricity regulation… Scotland generates so much electricity we turn off the turbines when it’s windy (instead of Scots getting cheap/free power). Meanwhile they pay highest standing charges because the monopolies have long wires. We really do need huge reform

@tomasmcguinness Have often wondered the same. Maybe there is value in providing advice for some "standard" offerings like "How to automate your lights" or "How to charge your battery according to solar forecast" Seems theres a need for a multiuser management platform- like HA Corporate edition!
