@chamath@bgurley If the AI labs only make their products available in the states where the datacenters are allowed, people would vote with their feet and money pretty quickly
So you’ll need an ID to like your mates holidays pics in the UK but it’s illegal in the most powerful democracy in the world to show your ID when voting…
For all the commies frothing at musk being a trillionaire, it’s even more painful because they can’t confiscate it.
Those companies and shares in the hands of anyone else would lose the musk multiple premium on their valuation and it would no longer be worth $1T
He’s only a trillionaire because he’s Elon musk and you can’t take that away
NEW: malware developers added nuclear & biological weapons text to to their spyware.
Goal? To trigger LLM safety refusals... so that their spyware wouldn't be analyzed by an AI security scanner.
Cleanest practical example I can think of for why over-indexing on first order safety alignment is risky.
When closed (and open) models ship with aggressive refusals, they will be sprinkled with second-order blindspots that attackers will discover...and exploit.
We are only in the earliest days of attackers leveraging these features, and it wouldn't surprise me if users systems that need to handle complex cybersecurity issues demand that models be less safety-blunted.
In the weeds: @SocketSecurity's post also shows why intention matters in how you design a malware analysis pipeline to avoid prompt manipulation.
H/T to colleagues that shared this with me https://t.co/f3Aj9TYxU4
The scary part about Anthorpic's Fable nerf is not that it refuses to answer biology or cryptography. It's that it foreshadows what's coming. A world where a couple companies decide what you can and cannot do. They're building a new ruling class and you're not in it...
Introducing Claude Fable 5: a Mythos-class model that we’ve made safe for general use.
Its capabilities exceed those of any model we’ve ever made generally available.
@paulg@elonmusk Yeah we started making the same decision. Driving to Indianapolis and Chicago from Birmingham instead flying over the last couple of months
You can’t imagine how fast Chinese humanoid robots are evolving.
In just one year, they have evolved from robots to "humans".
