This is so insanely corrupt, I can’t even believe it.
More than half the donors to Trump’s $400 million White House ballroom just won over $50 billion in new federal contracts in six months.
And here’s the part that should make your blood boil.
Sixteen of these 27 donors were facing federal enforcement actions, antitrust reviews, labor cases, securities charges. Many of those cases have been quietly dropped or scaled back since Trump took office. You write a check, your legal problems disappear. That’s not a coincidence.
The White House won’t even release the full donor list. They’re hiding it on purpose, because daylight is the one thing pay-to-play can’t survive. A federal judge already ruled ballroom construction has to stop until Congress authorizes it.
Government is supposed to serve the people, not auction itself off to the highest bidder. When access goes to whoever pays the most, working families always end up paying the price.
We either end the corruption, or the corruption will end us.

Amid shrinking development financing & growing global pressures, the @UN has helped strengthen food security, expand access to electricity & extend essential health services for millions of people.
We need to strengthen a multilateralism that delivers results people can see & feel.

800 million people still live in extreme poverty. Their plight is made worse by conflicts, the climate crisis, deepening inequalities & heavy debt burdens.
We need to shape economies that put people first, and continue our fight to reduce & #EndPoverty.
Germany had 2.5 GW of operational grid-scale batteries in 2025, the largest fleet in the EU 🔋
Another 10 GW is in the pipeline. Had that capacity been online in 2025, Germany could have avoided €830 million in gas purchases and solar redispatch costs.

Interesting new paper documents clearly how the IAEA has been overestimating the growth of nuclear time and time again. It's the inverse of what I've documented for solar and batteries.

🇺🇸 Mr. Ambassador @BillWhiteUSA,
I urge you to exercise greater restraint and to view your role in its proper context. It is inappropriate to publicly criticize a country and tarnish its image simply because you disagree with judicial proceedings. I have already told you this. Would you consider it acceptable for our Ambassador in Washington to do the same?
In Belgium, the judiciary is independent and makes its decisions—whether one agrees with them or not—free from any political influence.
I recall that the proceedings in question were initiated by representatives of the Jewish community themselves. To portray those as a country’s desire to undermine the religious freedom of Jews is defamatory. This freedom has never been called into question and never will be in our country. Our Constitution protects it.
And it is not for an ambassador to dictate the government’s agenda.

@ramez And the often overlooked fact: Germany kept its industrial base relatively intact during this transition, while nuclear-heavy France has been de-industrialising for decades. The energy transition is not a supply-side problem. It's about demand.

The longer the Strait of Hormuz is choked, the higher the cost to humanity.
My message is clear:
Open the Strait.
Let all ships pass.
Let the global economy breathe again.
This is truly mind-blowing: Norway has gone from near-zero sales of non‑emitting battery electric vehicles to now close to 100% of all new passenger car sales - achieved in about 13 years.

Electric vehicles are an extremely powerful tool for reducing oil demand.
This is so obvious when you use the same units.
There is a ton of chemical energy in the oil we burn to move cars, but you only need a small fraction in electrical energy for EVs to do the same job.
