Suppose you write—

"I want to learn Excel."

With this, ChatGPT cannot tell whether you are a beginner or already have some prior knowledge. It doesn't know if you want to learn for a job or for specific office tasks, nor does it know your desired timeframe.

Now, if you write—

"I am a complete beginner in Excel. I need a 30-day learning plan for office work. I can dedicate one hour each day. Please structure it so that by the end, I can work with VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and Dashboards."

You will see that the response changes completely.

That is the power of a good prompt.
