A better design for pedestrians would incorporate the following:
✅ Footpaths on both sides of the street
✅ Clear width of at least 2 m for walking
✅ Footpaths raised 150 mm above the carriageway to prevent waterlogging
✅ Trees in the furniture zone to provide shade

@Carbonblue4 @AbabaCity @KURAroads @KeNHAKenya @Roads_KE @MombasaCountyKe There have been many attempts to build cycle tracks in Nairobi. The best one is on Oloitoktok Rd, and the mystery to me is why the road agencies have not been able to meet this same standard in any project since.
