Happy 20th birthday Mr Blobby! It’s been 20 years since this iconic image was taken. Mr Blobby was collected at a depth of 1300 m on the Norfolk Ridge in New Zealand during the NORFANZ expedition on the RV Tangaroa. He now lives in the @AustmusResearch ichthyology collection!

The incredible differences between a Smooth Hammerhead (Sphyrna zygaena) on the left and a Winghead Shark (Eusphyra blochii) on the right. The differences in their cephalofoil is striking, with the Winghead only growing to about 1.9 metres. Both are incredibly beautiful sharks.
