Culture Under Attack
This #documentary tells about the systematic erasure of the Armenian cultural heritage in Nakhijevan and what it warns us about in regards to Artsakh heritage and conflict in general. This is a teaser to the Nakhijevan segment of the film.
Film coming soon.
As predicted, the Holy Mother of God Cathedral in Stepanakert, Nagorno-Karabakh, has been demolished.
It was both a place of prayer and a shelter when the city was being bombed. I remember the last baptisms and weddings here during the NK's blockade in 2023.
"We are not vandals like you," Azerbaijanis say about Armenians, showing the Armenian Church in Baku. After 2023, they also published photos of Stepanakert's church: "Here is your church, it is standing as you can see, here are your crosses and dome." However, it turned out that they could not resist. Let's assume that demolishing the parliament building is okay, but why demolish the church when there is so much talk about peace?
P.S. Maybe the fact needs to be verified, but the shared photo leaves no doubt that it was indeed demolished. However, Azerbaijan do not publish much videos from Nagorno-Karabakh, except for what they want to show.
Had the honor of supporting develop the Preventing Escalation and Advancing Caucasus Engagement Act (PEACE Act), a tigger sanctions legislation designed to protect Armenia and deter aggression and instability in the South Caucasus. 🧵

Today is a dark day for justice.
Ilham Aliyev has sentenced a young Azerbaijani scholar, Bahruz Samadov, to 15 years in prison.
His crime?
He dared to dream of peace.
He believed that Armenians and Azerbaijanis—two peoples torn apart by decades of violence and propaganda—could learn to see each other not as enemies, but as fellow human beings.
He believed that dialogue is stronger than hatred, that peace is more powerful than war.
But for Aliyev, that dream is a threat. A threat to the system he feeds: one built on fear, division, and endless conflicts.
Aliyev has openly admitted why Bahruz is being punished: because he “mingled” with Armenians. Because he refused to hate. Because he dared to love peace in a country where peace has become a crime.
The regime’s media machine runs day and night, pouring out venom against Armenians, keeping the flames of hatred alive. And Bahruz? He tried to put that fire out—with compassion, with courage, with truth. That’s why the regime hates him. That’s why the the regime crushed him with a sentence as cruel as it is unjust.
The ugliness of this regime is no longer hidden. It is seen and felt by every peace-loving soul who still believes in a better world.
Today, evil triumphed again.
Today, hundreds of political prisoners remain in the regime’s dungeons. But tomorrow, they will lead the nation.
Netanyahu started this war by attacking Iran.
He assassinated Ali Shamkhani, Iran’s lead nuclear negotiator, deliberately sabotaging US-Iran nuclear negotiations.
The US must not be dragged into another illegal Netanyahu war – either militarily or financially.

I am beginning a visit to Syunik, in a spirit of friendship, solidarity, and support.
➡️ Syunik is an inalienable part of the territory of Armenia.
➡️ Its inhabitants have the right to live in peace, without fear or threats.
Syrian Christians and Alawites are being slaughtered in Syria by soldiers of the ISIS/AlQaeda terrorist government. The death toll is 1800 in just the last few days, with many victims still missing. Entire villages are being slaughtered by these terrorist govt forces. These pictures are of just some of the Christian and Alawite victims from the last few days. This is what we warned would happen if the secular Syrian Government was removed. Pray for the Christians & other minorities in Syria. 🙏🏼✝️ @POTUS@SecRubio@UN@antonioguterres
Ruben Vardanyan’s message has left all Armenians speechless, in deep emotions of pain and high humanism, regret and gratitude… please stay strong, Ruben and all Armenians POWs in Baku. I hope his strength will shatter the hearts of those who could set #FreeArmenianHostages now!!
From his prison cell, Ruben Vardanyan’s call for true and lasting peace
Despite more than 500 days of illegal imprisonment, Ruben Vardanyan's voice remains unbroken as he advocates for a peace grounded in fundamental human values, based on dignity, creating a foundation for genuine coexistence in the South Caucasus. Vardanyan sent an audio message from the Baku isolation ward through his family, requesting that the phone conversation be recorded and made public. He calls for a “real, stable, long-term peace – not just on a paper, but one that is sustainable and is adhered to by all people”.
The full audio version of the message is available here https://t.co/v4Kw84IGTc
