@SpringhouseFilm The fact that slaves under that institution could choose to have that contract become permanent (having the ear lobe pierced) seems to certainly imply for some it was a beneficial arrangement.

Chattel slavery reduced a person to nothing, and did the same for their offspring. 2/2

Slavery has taken many forms as an institution throughout time.

In my view the biblical institution of slavery seemed to almost be a sort of contract. You work x amount of time to pay a debt or earn something.

@HVNYrefugee Definitely a very interesting place. I’ve got family that has been in Grandview for a long time and they would go on day trips to Grassy Cove.

Also have an uncle who has been in some of the caves there. Apparently some have ceilings 2 stories up.

@FlashpointHx Beautiful city. Lots of great architecture in general, but the Sagrada for me is the most awe-inspiring thing I’ve laid my eyes on. The way light is manipulated inside I’ve never seen.

We see the tower of Jesus Christ illuminated for the first time!
The light show, starting from the base up to the illumination of the cross, culminated with a composition of lights guided by drones that traced the figure of Gaudí and the phrase “first love, then technique”.

One of the best things to do this time of year is fruit infused water.

I love taking a lemon a few strawberries, slicing them up, and setting in the fridge to chill for a few hours.
