The Kenyan🇰🇪 Govt was never serious about this.
A big African city like Nairobi still doesn't have an organized scheduled transport system. Nairobi's major weakness is lack of public mass transport. Its disorganized minibus (matatu) system just doesn't cut it.

Nairobi once had an organized public transport system with scheduled buses plying major routes within the city.

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania has one of the best transportation systems in Africa. Its Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system transports over 300,000 passengers daily.

ANOTHER TERROR THREAT NEUTRALISED
Today, the Special Operations Group (SOG), Kenya's 🇰🇪 elite Counter-Terrorism Group, carried out intelligence-led operations against 2 #AlShabaab makeshift camps. The camps on the Kenya-Somalia border were established as IED assembly camps and were to be used to attack and disrupt civil transport and commercial activities on our major roads linking Garissa and Lamu counties.

The #AlShabaab militants who could not withstand the SOG firepower abandoned the camps, leaving behind, IED making materials (detonators, switches, IED cylinders, sodium nitrates), bullets, communication gadgets and assorted ammos for hand held rocket launchers.

The SOG reiterated that the safety and security of Kenyans remains top priority.

The security agencies thank the local communities for their continued support in sharing valuable information in the fight against terrorism.
