Leaseholders in properties under 11m are facing bankruptcy because they cannot afford to cover cladding costs to ensure building safety standards are met.
The Government must act to protect leaseholders from extortionate costs to pay for maintenance on property they do not own.
This is an open letter to @michaelgove on behalf of landlords in Birmingham. We are against Birmingham City Council's landlord licence scheme. It is badly conceived and will backfire by increasing rents.

Give these guys a cheer and follow them. They've given sweat and blood and won some incredible concessions that they won’t benefit from. No one left behind. Strong together, divided we fall.

Waiting for @michaelgove to shine some light on how he will abolish leasehold, he should pass the bill all leasehold flat to be 999 years to begin with… then start untangling
In the last 3.5 years our building has had to pay £1.3 million for extra fire safety measures including waking watch and extra insurance. VAT was charged on this. The government is profiteering. Give it back and help small time landlords unfairly discriminated as non-qualified.
Being a leaseholder in a shoddy 'newly converted' block, when you check your phone to see 25 new messages on the usually quiet block chat, your heart drops. Flood? Fire? Brothels? Police around again? 1/
Absolutely terrified filling in my Leaseholder Deed of Certificate.
You just know that the smallest of admin errors and the scumbags will try and ruin my life again. Any excuse to shaft me.

"As @luhc made clear, the Government expect developers to take responsibility for any building developed by any company in their corporate group, including cases where they acquire the original developer"
❌ @gallifordtry are still evading responsibility.
