Former Politico reporters admit they were forced to kill the Hunter Biden laptop story, one of the biggest stories of the 2020 election campaign. Most newsrooms did the same.

Fascinating that both attribute this simply to 'cowardice' from editors. Why were editors 'cowardly'? Why are editors consistently 'cowardly' on a whole range of issues – see the Gaza genocide for a current example? Does that 'cowardice' reveal a pattern? What does that pattern mean?

Why have none of them apparently read Noam Chomsky and Ed Herman's seminal book on the media and its *structural* role in 'Manufacturing Consent'?

That wilful blindness is what keeps them employable in a corporate media there to maintain corporate power. Even as this pair admit a truth, they hide the much deeper truth.
