@drchriscarson I work in the NHS and it’s on its knees. Everyone that works there is underpaid and overworked. We are screaming for more staff to get the waiting lists down, having these strikes helps no one. You applied for the job knowing the wage, these strikes make it hard for everyone!!

@mikejwhelan 100% agree. I am from the UK and have always thought the same. When young I saw my Dads best friend dying from lung cancer and will always remember the day he said to me “if I was a dog they would put me down. Why am I suffering??”. It broke my heart and I will never forget it.

@mbga_uk My Mum is the same, worked in the NHS for 25 years, nearly killed her off in the end with staff shortages etc. She has NO savings, but gets just over the threshold amount so isn’t allowed it. She can’t afford to live 😢

Absolute circus this morning, that is not even remotely funny.
Phoned the doctors this morning to try to get an appointment for Bev with a doctor. Both of us phoned using our mobiles at the same time on the dot of 8:00am. My phone was No13 in the queue and Bev's was No18. At 8:45 my phone got finally got answered.
We were told that all the ANP triage appointments had gone, so they couldn't do anything, and it would be best if we dialled 111 and see if they could help. We all know what the result of that would be. "Best go to A&E."
We didn't bother.
This system is broken beyond fucking repair.
So, now we have no idea where to go from here.
Try again tomorrow or just die.
