PTSD is far too often associated solely with military veterans, despite the fact that 33% of children that are exposed to community violence will experience It. For male Vietnam Era Veterans, the rate is 30% according to the National Vietnam Veterans Readjustment Study.
So neither the @DeptofWar or @DeptVetAffairs put out their annual reports on suicide for 2025 when the former "is focused on bringing greater attention to suicide prevention" and the latter's top clinical priority is suicide prevention?
Sadly, I don't think so, @DavidSandman1. @DeptVetAffairs's annual report is an invaluable tool for folks doing suicide prevention work in the veteran community, so I'm hoping it will be released soon.
@LeoShane@SenSchumer The folks @RANDCorporation studied this back in 2017 and found that proposals to repeal the ACA would likely increase the demand for VA services while increasing the number of veterans who are uninsured.

"One that encompasses all of them and kind of leads to the rest is expanding outreach about benefits. We know veterans, according to this study, think benefits are great and they're useful, but they're still not utilizing them." - @ClassicDCoy
