@VilleKuosmanen I would really like to try the amazing hand.
It's VERY cheap.
Probably needs some editing for better grip though.
You can also look into Leap hands. Open, but bulky and heavy.
@VilleKuosmanen Found any?
There are some open source 3d printable ones

I have never tried them, but they seem relatively affordable.
Humanoid robots are already working 7-hour shifts.
This time-lapse shows HMND 01 completing hours of uninterrupted bin picking of metallic bearing rings, compressed into just a few minutes.

Humanoid and @SchaefflerGroup announce strategic technology partnership.
Over the next 5 years, hundreds of Humanoid’s robots will be deployed across Schaeffler’s production facilities, starting with beta-stage robots in 2026-2027.
The partnership also includes next-gen actuator development, data collection and skill development, laying the foundation for scalable industrial humanoids.

@Antonio_Tajani@ItalyMFA Spero che l'incontro sia durato molto poco e che la risposta concreta sia stata: "ma siete ancora li? Che ci state a fare?"
L'unica risposta seria che si può dare ad aziende italiane in russia.
We hear complaints that AI systems aren't very good at causal inference, but some hominids seem to think that an effect can precede a cause by several months.
@y0b1byte I generally agree. I also see people wanting to use notebooks for production code. Which sounds like a horrible idea IMHO.
However, I found my balance in developing notebooks.
I really liked the method proposed by @fishnets88 in this talk:

Yet another opportunity to point out that reasoning abilities and common sense should not be confused with an ability to store and approximately retrieve many facts.
I often joke saying that ML is just glorified Matrix multiplication and partial derivatives.
Seems that my joke is not grounded anymore 😂.

@chris_j_paxton Got it, thanks. Did you experience many problems with self occlusions?
I imagine that in some cases one of the 2 cubes gets occluded and the gripper won't respond well.
That said, it looks like a great low-cost, no-power option 😁.
@chris_j_paxton Interesting! Why does your wand need 2 cubes? Shouldn't you be able to get 6Dof with one? Is it redundancy to have a more accurate 3D pose estimation?
I notice you operate over a ring light is your detection very sensitive?
@macjshiggins@chris_j_paxton Well, their hw is without doubt, incredible.
I understand that it is hard to work with manipulation in general.
IMHO As of now, Dexterous Manipulation has still very few use cases that can't be covered with different tech.
It is still a tech in evolution...
@macjshiggins@chris_j_paxton The HW of shadow is very expensive but is very well designed and functional. I have been involved with the team in the past and they give a strong push in quality.
