We investigate the scandal of London's disappearing police stations #frontpage
Fifteeen years ago, the capital had 160, but that has been cut sharply to just 36.
A new study argues the changes have had a worrying effect on violent crime. Find out why: https://t.co/LSmsbCEmkB
Fascinating new @TheIFS paper finds that the closure of 70% of police stations in London was not cost effective and led to higher crime levels, with particularly negative impacts on the poor

The Icon of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world holds 5,610 in hotel luxury.
The Bibby Stockholm holds 220, or 4000 if you squash them in.
They both cost £1.6bn, one to buy, the other to rent for 2 years.
The corruption and grift is insane.
Jail these crooks.
@StuTemps87@bernjcc@dullneat Stuart, I am reading your posts.
If you’re going down the line of “just in case” where do you draw the line?
At the end of the day, this is a probationer who is jumping up & down because they haven’t been allowed a course for additional equiptment.
I’m ending it there.
@StuTemps87@bernjcc@dullneat 1. I’m not out of touch. I’m frontline dealing with the worst society has to offer & use force as & when needed.
2. 90% of what I have dealt with I’ve been able to talk my way out of. Taser isn’t everything & PAVA has been a lot more effective than Taser in my experience
@StuTemps87@dullneat Taser shouldn’t be first option in your head.
First option… talk….
Normally works, then go through the NDM.
I’ve had it 10 years, you don’t use it that often!
Policing 2023:
Don’t volunteer to carry a gun,
Don’t use any force,
Don’t use your driving exemptions,
Don’t pursue criminals,
Don’t stop & search anyone,
Don’t have a social media account,
Don’t be proactive.
You might then make it to the end of your 30-40 year career.
