Joel 2:13
"Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love…”
On this blessed first Sunday of the Lenten season let us return to the Lord with sincere and humble hearts, seeking not only outward observance but true inner renewal. Let us be encouraged that His grace is sufficient for us all, and His love never fails.
Joined the faithful for Sunday service at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mlolongo.
I will not be pressured into taking any action outside the law. Every decision we make must be guided by the Constitution and the rule of law, which exists to protect the rights of every citizen and ensure fairness.
There is need to protect democratic space, ensuring that every Kenyan can speak freely, participate in civic activities, and engage with leaders without fear or undue influence.
A healthy democracy thrives on open dialogue, mutual respect, and accountability, and safeguarding these freedoms is essential for fostering unity and peace.
I ask the Machakos county assembly MCAs to swiftly pass the Wikwatyo Fund bill into law so that women, youth, and marginalized communities can access the support they need to start small businesses, gain skills, and create jobs.
This fund has the power to transform lives, empower families, and open new opportunities our people
Today, at my office, I held a consultative meeting with members of the County Assembly upon their request. We reviewed the development projects implemented so far, assessed the progress achieved across our wards, and candidly discussed the areas that require greater focus and strategic prioritization.
The engagement provided an opportunity to align our development agenda, strengthen coordination between the Executive and the Assembly, and reaffirm our shared commitment to prudent resource utilization, accountability, and results-driven leadership.
Together, we will continue to work in unity to accelerate service delivery, enhance oversight, and ensure that every project we undertake delivers tangible and lasting impact to the people we serve.
Road infrastructure remains a key pillar in driving economic growth, improving mobility, and connecting our communities to opportunity.
We have successfully completed the road maintenance works for the Tala–Katine–Syanthi Road in Tala Ward. The project involved grading, gravelling, and murraming to enhance accessibility and ensure a smooth, reliable transport network for residents and businesses.
This improved road will ease movement of people and goods, support local trade, enhance access to schools and health facilities, and open up the area for further development. I remain committed to strengthening infrastructure as a foundation for sustainable growth and efficient service delivery.
Machakos County has been ranked among the top-performing counties by the Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat following a comprehensive review of county performance in automation of citizen service delivery and employment creation initiatives. The assessment evaluated county-level digital transformation efforts and job creation strategies, with the objective of identifying best practices and scalable models that can accelerate employment generation while enhancing efficient and accessible service delivery.
This recognition affirms our commitment to leveraging technology to improve public services, empower our youth, and create sustainable economic opportunities for our people. By investing in innovation, we continue to position Machakos County as a model of progressive governance and inclusive development.
During the event, I was represented by CECMs Dr. Consolata Mutisya for Education and Mr Justus Kasivu for Health.
I joined the family of former Mwala MP Hon. Daniel Muoki, who also serves as a Member of the Machakos Municipality Board, to condole with them following the untimely demise of their son, Joshua Muuo.
May the Almighty grant the family strength and comfort during this difficult time, and let Joshua’s soul rest in eternal peace.
“Ruto talks reform, but his record is full of projects that line his friends’ pockets, not Kenyans. The sad truth? He practices impunity… with impunity!” - Jimmie Nicks
Alongside distinguished Pan-African scholar and my #mentor P. L. O. Lumumba at Kingfisher Nest Hotel, Westlands.
The engagement centered on constitutionalism, governance, leadership ethics, and the future of Africa’s democratic institutions.
