Mental Performance Coach. Lead performance coach @usab3x3. I help elite athletes and high performing humans build systems that lead to peak performance.
What if coaches aren't underperforming, but rather they're under-supported?
Too often we ask coaches to lead others through stress, while giving them very little space to process their own.
But no one questions if athletes benefit from coaching to reach their ceiling.
So why do we often assume coaches can reach theirs alone?
It’s one thing to beat a dead horse.
It’s another to drag it around with you.
Sometimes we have to leave things behind to move forward.
Move on, Start building, and Believe.
A great coach doesn't make you comfortable. They make you confront the gap between your current self and your potential self. Their job is to create the productive discomfort necessary for you to close that gap.
We all agree on the value of coaching for athletes.
But what about for coaches?
Atul Gawande once said, "Coaching done well may be the most effective intervention designed for human performance."
This sentiment doesn't just apply to athletes.
The best leaders learn alongside the people they lead. They don’t just build systems for others, they also build systems for themselves.
And sometimes, the best system a coach can leverage is getting help and guidance from another coach.
{New Podcast!} What happens when you pivot in life?

I chat with GCU Director of Sports Medicine @CoachBradyHowe about how modern basketball affects the body, recovery, and just how impressed he is with the athletes he works with. And yes, there is some Dennis Evans talk at the end! Links below 👇
“If you are depressed, you are living in the past.
If you are anxious, you are living in the future.
If you are at peace, you are living in the present.”
― Lao Tzu
When leaders share their experience during turbulence—'I've been here before, I'll guide us through this'—it's far more powerful than simply saying 'slow down.' Like a coach visiting the mound or a pilot announcing turbulence, they're not just calming you; they're navigating you around the storms. — Bhrett McCabe @DrBhrettMcCabe
