Dominate the little things. The great ones know, and understand, that everything matters. They don’t allow cracks in the foundation. They’re intentional about every moment, every rep, every play, every task.
At the end of the day, the smallest details add up. The question is, what are they adding up to?
Do you second guess yourself or have regrets at the end; or are you content knowing that you mastered the little details, no matter the result?
Build & protect the foundation. Take the path of small, consistent details. Master the details. Remember that everything matters.

Sean McVay on the danger of letting ego distort your leadership.
“When I’ve been at my worst, the sh*t’s been a lot more about me than I realize.”
The chase for winning, validation, or relevance can slowly pull you away from the leader you originally wanted to become.
Love this reflection question that Sean offers here: Who are you becoming as a result of what you’re chasing?

We are all just renting our jobs, roles, and titles.
"I have been here for 15 years as the head coach...this position has been on loan and it wasn't mine to keep...It's time for me to give it back, but to give it back to gain what I can't lose." -- Tony Bennett
Titles eventually get handed back. Just make sure you don't completely sacrifice what matters most trying to hold onto something that was never yours to permanently keep.
Jobs are finite. Values are infinite.

Nick Saban on Leadership.
“Leadership is about helping somebody else for their benefit, not yours.” - Nick Saban
True leadership isn’t about power.
It’s about lifting others up and putting the team first.
Lead for impact.
How you treat people says everything there is to say about you. It doesn’t matter how smart, accomplished, wealthy or cool you think you are. Strength of character is beyond any measure. Being a good person with a kind heart is what matters most & will benefit you for a lifetime.
So proud of this young lady! She represents all that is good in athletics today. Loyal, fierce competitor that is also a great teammate. But most of all an even better person!
Congratulations to our very own Averi Cline for winning the Female Scholar Athlete of the Year award and earning the Female Community Outreach Award all 4 years of her career at WKU!
"...you grow up with this sense of entitlement, as if the whole world revolves around you. And…if I wanted to be a better husband, a better father, a better coach, I had to get rid of that type of entitlement.”
No titles have ever been won with entitlement.
You don't deserve it. You earn it.
Athletes‼️‼️ You know what college coaches love just as much as your production, maybe even more? High character.
What you do off the field or court matters just as much.
-Can you be counted on to be in class, on time, and handling your academics the right way? -Do you help teammates who are struggling? -Do you reinforce your program’s standards when no one’s watching?
-Do you respond to adversity the right way? -Do you take coaching, or do you make excuses?
Never forget that talent might get you noticed, but character is what keeps you there!
