@rich_zanon Dodgers got around the whole system currently in place by calling Ohtani’s salary $2 Million and deferring $48 MIL.
Who says a hard cap would have prevented the same maneuver?
@SleeperRangers 2 over or 4 under is not a serious contending team either way.
With that said said, I’d like to see him stay…unless CY gets a Gore type offer. Then off he goes. 😊
@JaredSandler Not sure who, but Don Mattingly did wonders in the Philly clubhouse, so maybe.
Legit question, why not ask for the team across the lot? You have a few times the last 2 years but it seems only out of anger when arguing with someone in defense of CY, Bochy, or now Skip.
@TexasBBQ300@JaredSandler Sins of Landry…after 3 SuperBowls…give it a rest dude!
There is no curse, just a terrible GM and FO.
After nearly 40 years some folks still talking nonsense ‘bout how poor ol’ Tom got done wrong.
Stupid!
@rjchoppy Folks will think you posted a secret winning formula and it will go 65%+ in the opposite direction as a losing bet for the next 5-6 weeks. 🤪😂
@nickygsmustache I don’t believe there will be a cap. I’d like to see a floor, strict control of the current luxury tax system and counting all deferred money in the current year earned. No more pretending Ohtani only earns $2 Million and $48 Mil when retired.
@schadjoe Maybe not…maybe he chooses somewhere else if the deferred payment options are not allowed and must be counted as current salary.
Remember, deferred money was Ohtani’s idea supposedly so the team could build around him with less luxury tax implications.
@JaredSandler Cowboys offense or Rangers offense…which is worse? Today, Cowboys, but both teams are mediocre .500 clubs.
And the division is all backed up for the Cowboys just as the AL West did for the Rangers. How similar can 2 seasons get?
@jeffbatesx@donboscomd “Bye”…another statement full of wisdom after you started a thread that was wrong from the beginning.
Making things up yourself like a politician, or sandler when he’s been asked a question by Bobby Belt that wasn’t on the pre-approved interview question sheet.
@jeffbatesx Two things:
Luxury tax system is a pseudo cap already agreed too.
Our local team, the Rangers, owned by a billionaire runs it on any given year with a budget and he will not spend more than X in payroll.
Cap or no cap, I don’t care cuz you can’t make an owner spend.
@MacEngelProf Should be TCU with Sonny for thinking Craig would be the answer at QB after having some success in the powerhouse Ivy League conference.
He has waisted a season with a solid defense.
@MacEngelProf As a TCU grad, it’s always great to see a a win over Baylor!
Ready for Sonny to start getting reps to Schobel at QB to see if he has anything for the future.
Continuing to play Craig is waisted growth opportunity for Schobel at 3-3
@rjchoppy@1053thefan@1053SS@BobbyBeltTX@Peyton_Russell1 Whoo-hoo…I’d be up to about a $10 profit if I followed those picks and made a straight up $100 bet on each game. Or $1 on $10 bets. That’s why I don’t gamble. Too easy to get behind and forever to get even.
@Riffraff3232 Taking a left turn on benching QB’s, when is Craig getting benched so that we can see if someone else is capable of stepping up.
I hear the fire Sark and fire Elko choirs are meeting together at 1st Baptist in Giddings. The fire Sonny crowd ain’t mad enough yet.
@JaredSandler IU…if they scored 2 TD’s was going for 2 on one of them.
That’s with Cig assuming his D would give up no more than 3 pts the remainder of the game which gets OT.
Pitch a shutout to end the game, the extra points don’t matter, which IU was a step away from doing.
