It was overshadowed by the Ohtani/Trout finish, but his at-bat vs Yu Darvish in the last finals is such an underrated baseball moment. Perfect example of when a hitter is so on a pitcher's stuff that the outcome feels inevitable. Just a matter of calibration.
Dodger pitcher Alex Vesia didn’t play in the WS due to a “deeply personal family matter.” His wife Kayla was due about now with their first child. “Heartbreaking is not a good enough descriptor,” said Dave Roberts before Game 7. In light of the tragedy, *Blue Jays pitchers* wore his number (51) on their hats through the series, and last night Chris Bassitt conveyed an additional message to the Vesias in every closeup. Isaiah 41:10. “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Pure class. God-ward class.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto with the gutsiest pitching performance ever.
World Series G2: 9 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 8 K, W
World Series G6: 6 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 6 K, W
World Series G7: 2.2 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 1 K, W
He is the undisputed World Series MVP. He is the best pitcher on the planet.
Would you rather (maybe) win game 3 of the World Series and risk a major injury/surgery….or extend your career (and career earnings potential) and pitch on (somewhat) normal rest? 🤷🏽♂️ In the moment every pitcher on the planet says “give me the ball,” that’s why those decisions can’t be left to the player. IMO
Drafted as SS by the Red Sox. Moved to the OF because Red Sox infield was loaded at the time. 2018 MVP as an Outfielder. 6 Gold Gloves. 2024 moved back to SS did not go great. Wins World Series playing RF. 2025 Gold Glove nomination at SS! If you’re only a SS good luck!! Every high level infielder either professionally or amateur has played SS at some point. Be Versatile!! Know how to play every spot you n the infield. Be willing to make a position change. What will get you on the field and help your team WIN!!
Bryce Miller has Isaiah 6:8 inscribed on his hat.
Then I heard the Lord asking, "Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?" I said, "Here I am. Send me."

Best in the Business - @CoachDanCDM
I just wanted to take a moment to highlight my brother and one of my best friends — @grant_mccarty .
For as long as I can remember, my brother has been a genius. School always came easy to him, but it was never just about intellect. He’s always been one of the hardest workers I know. Whether it was academics, sports, speech and debate, or launching businesses — Grant gave his all, and it always showed.
Growing up, we bumped heads pretty often. But looking back, most of those moments came from him wanting what was best for me. He pushed me, challenged me, and inspired me — especially through his work ethic. I saw how driven he was in everything he did, especially baseball. Deep down, I think he pushed himself so hard because he saw the challenges I faced — and he wanted to make the most of every opportunity, not just for himself but for both of us.
The reason I’m writing this is simple: to give honor where honor is due. I appreciate you so much, Grant.
These last seven years, I’ve watched you grow in so many ways. You graduated college with your bachelor’s in two years, earned your master’s from Johns Hopkins two years later, won a few entrepreneurial awards, and started multiple companies. In 2020, you went all-in on the world of Bitcoin and crypto — and even Co-Founded @bitcoinpolicy with one of your best friends 2021. And while I still don’t fully understand the crypto world (😂), what I do know is you’re making a real difference — not just for the crypto space, but for the world.
Recently, the Genius Act passed, and I believe you and BPI have a lot to do with bringing awareness of the benefits of having Bitcoin in the U.S. economy. That’s major.
So here’s to you, bro. I’m proud to be your brother! I’m honored to witness your journey firsthand. Keep making an impact. Keep pushing boundaries. Keep being you.
And most of all — I pray you get to know Jesus in a deeper way. That’s the greatest gift there is.
Much love,
Your brother
