@UNAAthletics @UNAFootball I did my student teaching under his leadership while attending @north_alabama and he gave me my 1st head football coaching job in Alabama in 1992. One of the finest people I have ever known. I became a better man for knowing him. RIP ✝️♥️

@SCampbell_1 For years we organized and sent out our players high light films for this exact reason. Then parents went to administration and demanded the right to do their own and send out individually. Our signings decreased significantly.

The grandpa you laughed at behind his back for letting you watch violent war movies as a kid, but who freaked out about the Disney show where the kid had 2 Dads... that guy was right.

There was evil in the war movie, but it was generally evil depicted AS EVIL in a great struggle between good and evil, and it trained the consciences of a generation to value things like...

- Valor
- Self-sacrifice
- Courage
- Integrity
- Honor
- Patriotism (yes, patriotism IS a good thing)

My Dad used to say, "The worst kind person is the guy who was born on third and acts like he hit a triple."

Be wise, but watch a war movie with your kids today and help your American kid understand they were born on third base because a bunch of people died to get them three bases ahead.

I can remember getting my first Jacks hamburger for 15 cents as a child and my first soft serve ice cream from a local drive in. I was around 10. Those were very special occasions. Eating out was not an option. Took for granted that mom cooked 2 meals a day and packed a lunch for school and then 3 meals a day all summer and weekends/holidays. First BBQ sandwich was from a park ball fundraiser.

@coachvint I will say we encouraged the teachers to send their students to us. It created good will with the faculty and we had some great touch football and softball tournaments!

@CBassRadio I was coaching at UTC during that time. We had won the conference in 1984. Went 6-5 in 85 including losses to Georgia Southern Furman Vandy and Georgia Tech. Head coach overhauled the staff. We were never the same. Oh well.

@JakeCrain_ Junior college 1978. On campus bookie ran odds on NFL games. He was giving 80-1 on a Bengals game. They were 0-8. I took it for $20 and won. He skipped town and I never got a dime. 😂

I would suggest telling him what you are doing and give him an estimate as to what you are willing to spend. Let him do the research and come back with what he wants. Golf clubs are very personal. Driver woods hybrids irons putter bag etc. No sense in spending that kind of money and it not be what he would want. Good luck and congratulations! 💪⛳️
