💯 agree... in my 26 years of coaching HS, baseball players have best all-around athleticism when we're talking about translation to other skills. Saban makes valid points here. I'm saying this as a wrestling and soccer coach. I believe kids at young ages need stuff thrown at them with various speed and height to help them in their future sports.

It's terrible that when certain kids gets a sprained right ankle, they think they're whole body needs to be shut down. I point and ask what's wrong with their right arm, their left arm, their left leg. They studder, cannot answer and then I help them modify workout. I tell them rehab starts now.

@CoachHPrice I agree, outdated procedure. Thirty years ago, none of us even knew what our grades were until the carbon copy grade reports came out each 6 weeks... that were calculated by hand hopefully correctly into a calculator.

I think most all of us can look back and say we now have more respect for the teachers that challenged us, held us accountable in HS as opposed to those who didn't. Many of us probably didn't like that stern teacher at the time, but as time passed, we realize they helped us the most. Our job is to help build educated adults.
