COACHES: John Wooden didn't win a National Championship until his 16th year at UCLA. Don't give up. Don't get frustrated. Have a positive vision and stay committed to the process. Stay the course. Continue to be a positive leader.
@Jacobtheclipper For me, you got the ball in the hands of your best player which you want to do but devils advocate I also believe in the “best shot”. If Wemby rolls to the basket, he draws all the attention from the tagger and Castle would have been wide open on the lift.
What does a strong team culture look like?
1. We > Me
2. Process > Prize
3. Serving > Self-Serving
4. Learning > Knowing
5. Positivity > Negativity
6. Encouraging > Ignoring
Choose to lead.
Be a gatekeeper of your culture.
As an AD, you learn quickly that the loudest voices are not always the right ones. Many are driven by personal agendas, not the mission of the program. Volume does not equal value. Stay anchored to the people and principles that actually move your program forward.
That was some straight B.S. from the GREAT Geno Auriemma. Never — ever — thought I’d see the day when the greatest woman’s college coach in history would go down so CLASSLESSLY!!! Horrible look, and should be called out for it. He got OUTCOACHED. Plain and simple. And gets in her face like she did something wrong to him instead of being gracious. Had Dawn Staley acted like that we would be all over her. #HorribleGENO!
Geno Auriemma has won 12 national championships at UConn.
UConn is currently 38-0, trying to win their 13th.
When Geno is recruiting, certain things instantly disqualify a recruit - no matter how talented.

Coaches: Ask your players “who watched the games last night” and the teams with the most hands up will be the best teams.
Hard to be great if you don’t love it and hard to be great if you’re not obsessed with it
