Be great without being high maintenance. Show up on time, wear the right stuff, be coachable, support your teammates & give 100% every time you practice/play. High maintenance is hard. Coaches love low maintenance players who buy into the process. You’re what makes coaching fun!

Home to 1B. Talented player who will never know he was on our radar and perhaps other colleges watching. This time isn’t only to measure speed, but an indicator of a prospects passion and effort for the game. Too many good players to not hustle on the bases 4-5x a game. Next…
Vanderbilt head baseball coach Tim Corbin on the importance of failure in youth sports:
“If [failure] never happens, it’s tough for growth to take place.”
This interaction was incredible.
So many things to dissect, analyze and breakdown but the biggest IMO is player’s response to being challenged by a demanding coach.
No hurt feelings.
Constant eye contact.
Direct and prompt response.
Get back to work.
COACHES: It's ok to observe and say nothing.
Let a hitter know not to be alarmed if you don't say anything at first - you're just watching how they go about their routines and movements in order to meet them where they're at.
You can learn a lot by watching.

Invaluable advice from @JWonCATCHING given to Sammy when he interviewed him about player development.
The 🔑 is it is the player’s responsibility.
What advice would you give to your fellow high school athletes if you could go back in time and share what you know now.
East Carolina BB shows bunt a lot when they r taking vs taking normal, where u get 2 work on timing.Wondering which is higher % for getting on base & more importantly scoring runs?I’m not talking about vs pitcher’s who can’t locate. @JWonCATCHING what u think?
