Coach Gabriel Rutledge is in his 5th season as the Head Coach at Webber International University.
Coach Rutledge has guided the Warrior program to new heights during his tenure as Head Coach. This was highlighted by the 2023-2024 season, where Coach Rutledge lead the Warriors to a 20 win season and a NAIA National Tournament appearance. The Warriors defeated four teams that made the National Tournament during that season.
As a Head Coach at Webber, Rutledge has helped guide five athletes to All SUN Conference Teams, as well as one NAIA Honorable Mention All-American.
Coach Rutledge was a very successful player for the Warriors as well. Rutledge was named team Defensive Player of the Year for the 2010-11 season. For 2011-12, Rutledge was named the team MVP. For the 2012-13 Rutledge was named to the All-Sun Conference Second-Team, as well as the Webber Coach’s Award. By the time he graduated, he was Webber’s all-time leading rebounder with 1002 boards.
We are very excited to have Coach Gabriel Rutledge at our December 22nd event.

“A coach’s greatest gift is a group of guys that want to be coached- that want to be led.
We have an environment where learning and coaching are important and where getting better and developing is important.
You can’t be a good coach if your players don’t let you.” -Joe Mazzulla

I’ve seen thousands of “D1” caliber players go D2, D3, NAIA, Juco and still go pro, still get degrees, still become successful professionals in their fields of study. Teach those around you that these labels literally mean NOTHING, it’s what you do with your opportunities. 🗣
Don't miss any of tonight's postseason action! 5️⃣ #SUNMBB teams compete in the First Round of the NAIA Tournament!

A great performance for @webbermbb!! After the past two weeks, they may have just played their way into the National Tourney! Either way they have made it really tough on the selection committee!
Often times people who avoid specific goals are simply avoiding the possibility of failure. Short-term failures can lead to the solution for long-term wins.
