Maybe your just not good enough to play at the next level but what the heck it is easier to blame the coach than 2 face reality. The only guarantee ofTravel ball is that your family will be less financially secure at the end of the season than you were prior to the start.
If you aren’t getting any offers
If coaches aren’t coming to watch
If you aren’t quite as good as you need to be
Or if it just isn’t looking promising for the next level
Don’t worry about working on any of it, just blame your HS Coach. That seems the norm for the times!

When is this generation of parents and players just going to figure it out after all this knowledge they are being given? Unfortunately I think it will NEVER happen. There isn’t any returning to the real glory days.

From college teammates at Old Dominion, to managing a big league club! Manager, Matt Quatraro of the Kansas City Royals and Kutztown Baseball Head Coach, Eric Folmar catching up prior to tonight’s game in Philadelphia!
Dan, great job & tremendous efforts BUT 2 many HS coaches think that when the season is over so is theirs. How said … they need 2 shoot video, emailing, calling, & most importantly developing credibility w/ college coaches. I took that role seriously. The least U can do 4 a kid.
The @PBRPennsylvania @PBRNewYork staff have been very BUSY since June, covering roughly 3k players w/ more to come Aug-Oct.
This is more than a job to this staff. It's a true LOVE & PASSION for the game & for helping amateur players/families navigate the turbulent waters known as the recruiting process 💯
It's about providing an unrivaled platform (events, scouting, social media, content) for the players & their families. Our visibility is coast-to-coast.
It's about providing a welcoming & professional environment for the players to thrive in.
It's about never settling. From technology to operations & everything in-between, we continue to raise the bar 💯
It's about consistency & ownership. You know what you're going to get from us, & when there's an issue we work to rectify it. No hiding being generic emails. You're part of our family.
I don't think this was my vision in '14 but I'm overwhelmed by emotion & humility as to what this has become. @prepbaseball is a brand that keeps evolving & stands alone as leaders in our industry.
MANY thanks to the tireless working staff in the Northeast @PBR_NY_Carrier, @ocker_n, @T_Wills1, @GregWilliamsPBR, @shaymillss, @JoeWalentin, @B_Bliss_, @james_delaney08, @ChrisDryllPBR & many more part time road warriors - dozens of hard working interns - WHO MAKE THIS ALL POSSIBLE ‼️‼️🙏🙏🙌🙌
Game 12 Final:
Wilmington, DE 9, Quakertown 4
With the loss, Quakertown is eliminated from the tournament.
Congratulations to the Blue Jays on a great season, including their first state championship and a final-32 finish nationally.
@QuakertownALB
In all my seasons of coaching last year was the first year I experienced “The disease of me”. I did not even know it was defined already by a hall of fame coach but the shoe fits for about 5 families in my program last year but the kids are innocent the parent held the gasoline🔥
There’s that word again ACCOUNTABILITY that a parent might not like the discipline and goes running ‘everywhere’ to get you fired. When did parents take over as becoming LL head coaches at the HS level. Did I sleep through a decade of change?
"If a coach holds you accountable, it's because they care more about your future than your feelings." @DaveAnderson100
Holding someone accountable is something done for someone NOT to someone.
The greatest players are low on entitlement and high on accountability.
Future MLB players jump off the field in HS...they're just different. Mauer hit .600 his senior year with 15 homers and struck out once in his high school career.
Opportunity is earned. It’s not always easy to get & it’s never guaranteed. Don’t expect opportunity to fall into your lap. It won’t. It’s a product of grit, strength & toughness. It follows struggle. It follows failure. It follows effort & hard work. It never, ever comes before!
Just because your coaches yell at you doesn’t mean they dislike you as a person. They may be giving you tough love because they truly care about you and want you to improve.
What do coaches look for in a Player?
▪️ Student First
▪️ Team Spirit
▪️ Work Ethic
▪️ We > Me
▪️ Energy Giver
▪️ Respect
▪️ Honesty
▪️ Accountability
▪️ Leader by Example
▪️ Humble
What else?
I see so many kids transfer home because they do not like their distance from home, they do not like being a small fish in big pond, or what happened to that hometown newspaper that made me a super super star! Time to earn your stripes. TRUTH
HS Baseball Players
When the recruiting process starts for you, ask these questions:
• If Baseball ended, would I still enjoy this school?
• Does the school have your major?
• What is the surrounding area like?
• How are the facilities?
• How is the player development?
• What is their strength training philosophy?
• What is the roster depth by position?
• Could I play early?
• Is this place best for MY future?
Making this decision WON'T be easy, so take your time & ask the RIGHT questions ‼️💯🙌
My parents actually called Children & Youth on me because I was holding all players accountable & my best players were no exception. In 44 seasons I never saw anything like it but this was only my 2nd yr at a school asking for accountability! They got it! I was 100% EXONERATED.
PARENTS: Whether your child is starting, coming off the bench or barely playing, enjoy being a parent to an athlete. Be positive & always make it about the team. If done right, the process of parenting an athlete is rewarding for both your child & you. Youth sports are valuable.
